In the closely clustered neighborhood of lower Waverly Street, a fire broke out in a three family on the odd side of the street. Everett had at least two engines there with the hook/ladder engine. Plus, engines from Malden, Chelsea, Boston, and Logan Airport arrived on the scene. The fire broke out around 10:45AM this morning (I started smelling smoke around 11AM and I live on the same street). It was quite surprising to see Boston and Logan represented here. There must have been over 40 fire fighters on the scene. A Keyspan truck also showed up, indicating gas probably needed to be shut off. Was it a gas explosion? In any case, I will be looking forward to a report. I hope everyone got out okay. I haven't seen an ambulance on the street yet (as of 12:00PM) so hopefully no one was inside.

Jane,
You're incredible. Someone almost lost their house and all you can say is some stupid comment about their car and how he parks anywhere. I know Stephen and if you have a problem with him or what he does go by his house and talk to him about it. He parked where he did because he wanted to make sure his daughter was OK. Since his house was ten feet away from the burning building. His families safety comes first, maybe you have different priorities in your life.

I live right next door to the fire, we were in danger of loosing our house, but we got lucky that the wind was going up the street. there were 40 people living in that house but only 4-5 were actually home. no one was hurt or anything. we had everett, malden rescue, chelsea, massport, boston fire, salvation army, red cross, mbta, comcast, mass electric and more at the scene. linden, bucknam, warren and more were blocked off. i heard the engines around 11 and called my father "stephen caracciolo" at 11:15 to tell him that our neighbors how was on fire.
jane, now how dare you comment on my fathers car almost being towed when his life, his families lives, his house and everything he had was at stake.
you do not even have the guts to admit who you really are, but you do have the nerve to make comments that are ignorant.
i am personally embarrassed for you and that you are a member of our city. because instead of being a loyal worried citizen of everett, you are an unconcerned, ignorant, person. -- thanks to those who helped everyone and thanks to those concerned.

I don't think Jane was doing anything wrong I heard the same thing she did on the police scanner if you want to blame anyone start with the way police tryed to get stephen to move his car and then it had to be towed |

i do feel she did something wrong. she is pin pointing my father and i do not appreciate it. the police did not inform us to move the car so it was not his fault either. but i do not appreciate after everything that happened and everything we could be discussing about the fire that my fathers car is her main concern. her main concern should have been for the people in the house who lose their home, not a misparked car. |

According to last nights meeting there were 35 people living in that home. That is a disgrace. Something needs to be done in this city and FAST! 35 people in 3 appartments, do the math. That is just not acceptable. |
