Mayor Hanlon was invited to address a major gathering of the taxpayers in the city of Everett. He spoke for almost an hour on bringing back the "good old days," he talked about his honesty and integrity...and his future plans for decreasing taxes of every taxpayer, while increasing their standard of living. He said he would clean up Everett, and restore it to its former glory. He said there would be a hiring freeze, accountability and an open-door policy.
At the conclusion of his speech, the taxpayers presented the mayor with a plaque inscribed with his new nick name - Walking Eagle. He kissed babies and told long stories about his Christmas tree farm in Vermont to anyone who would listen. The proud mayor departed with his posse, waving to the crowd. A news reporter later inquired to the group of taxpayers of how they came to select the new name given to the mayor. They explained that Walking Eagle is the name given to a bird so full of **** it can no longer fly.

My Dear Court,
Is this really a joke? It seems so realistic and true.
The Pup is impressed with your knowledge of Native American lore.
As you may know, Shamanism is the ability to diagnose and cure human suffering and in some cases, the ability to actually cause human suffering (ref. Wikipedia).
Kindest regards to all,

By the way, Court, that was extremely funny.
We certainly appreciate your sense of humor.
Walking Eagle.....hilarious!

I agree, Emile. Up until the Walking Eagle part, Court, you could've been describing any one of Hanlon's coffee hours during his campaign for Mayor! Talk about life imitating art!!

Oh, I wish I could take full credit for this joke, but I can't. It was on a Native American website about President Bush, and I just couldn't resist "dressing it up" to suit our circumstances.
BTW, my friend, I don't believe that there is a purification ceremony strong enough to cleanse the body, mind and spirit of those who are currently leading this city.

Oh take credit for it!
You did a wonderful job adapting it to our plight.
It would certainly be a "feather in your cerimonial headdress" as the Shaman Pup would say.
