The whole School Committee is voted city wide.... which really doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. |

Let's have him go for the At-Large position.
Although I know he has been working out lately....

Ah, Emile . . . I do admire your subtle wit.
Who are the at large committee members right now? I believe Lester McLaughlin is one -- is the other one Alconada?
Bob Carreira (not sure of the spelling) is the ward 6 rep -- it would be nice to see David challenge any one of these. |

I agree with you. It would be a marvelous thing to see the look on freddie's face.
Alconada's house is up for sale... |

Up for sale again? He tried to sell that a year ago.
Wasn't Carreira was supposed to be the avenging angel for many of us on the school committee and he has done nothing to stem the overpowering red tide (not Crimson)from the school committee.
And now the school committe wants to be paid?

Is there any merit to the idea that paying the School Committee might help break the stranglehold? If they do vote to pay them, does that also include benefits, as it does with the city council?
Just throwing it out there . . . |

Probably all you said.
It won't make a difference.
The good citizens (no offense to you, my dear friend) will continue to vote them into office.
Makes me wonder about the mental accuity of the voters in the City.

No offense taken, Emile. I can honestly say I didn't vote for any of them except Joe Giuliano. Joe's been a bit of a disappointment, but realistically, how much can one man do?
The turnout we get for local elections speaks volumes, I think. People are flat out discouraged by the choices. |

I am sorry my friend Citizen, Guiliano was the name that I was referring to, not Carreira.
Too many cat pills on my part.
I think that many had h1gh hopes for Mr. Guiliano. I agree that he's been a dissappointment.

It would be great if a lot of people ran for school committee. Everyone should try to think of potential candidates. Does anyone know when nomination papers come out. |
