This happened at 45 Montrose Street at about 1:15 a.m. Two families lived in the home, and the fire forced people in neighboring homes to evacuate. The cold weather was a serious obstacle in battling the fire. A frozen fire hydrant forced a delay, as firefighters had to use another one some 500 feet away. No injuries have been reported.

Louie, glad to know everyone is okay. I hope there was not too much damage and your family will not be without their home for very long. |

This was my grandfather's original home then we lived across the street at 42 Montrose... my great uncle, his brother lived there for years until he passed away and it was sold. It was so horrible to watch the fire on the news and know the place I use to play in when I was little was no longer there. |

I know how you feel. It does stink. My Mom grew up in the house on Waverly that recently burnt down. |

What the heck is going on with all the fires? Maybe too many space heaters going with the way the weather has been?
Hopefully, everyone is okay. Thanks for the update, Lynda. |

I heard it on the scanner. Glad to hear everyone got out safely. One woman from another building they evacuated had a seizure.

Can't be Louie, there is no crime in Everett, or at least I don't read about it in our local papers. |

Okay, is anyone thinking the same thing I am? I am forseeing more fires in the future for profit by landlords that can't sell their property? Is the Fire marshall looking into these fires to see if it is arson? Does it have anything to do with illegal aliens and overcrowding? |
