Looks like it is the beginning of the end for the EVERETT ADVOCATE, i picked up a copy of it at Walgreens on Thursday night and not a SINGLE WORD about the election, not one mention of John Hanlon or any of the other races, no SOUNDS OF EVERETT, NOTHING!!!!! Im suprised Mitchell has given up this easy but to not even give an election recap or what the result means for the future of the city or any of the other races. I was suprised at the total lack of coverage and the total lack of respect that Mitchell has for this community. GOOD RIDDANCE WHEN YOU FINALLY DO CLOSE UP SHOP!!!!!!!!!!!

Mitchell covered the election last week. He even had a picture of Hanlon and his repulsive posse composed of the Marchese boys, David Ravanesi and others. It's old news.
The Advocate won't be going anywhere. Mitchell has survived worse than backing the wrong horse for Mayor.
Really . . . you do need a "fact" checker to help you out, don't you. |

| This is a funny post. We had Jane out here earlier crowing about all the thank you ads in the CoDependent, and remarking that the number of ads was a sure sign of the death of the other two papers. This was without knowing that the ads were free because the CoDependent screwed up the delivery of the special voters edition. Now we have justthefcts making the same sort of assumptions, thinking Mitchell's done because he didn't recap the election...when in fact he had - last week. Hmmmmmmmmmmm. A coincidence? I think not. |

Well one thing for sure about the Advocate. I think in 4 years I've only picked up one or two copies. What is their distribution like? Frankly, I missed both the election recap and the next issue. It comes out on Thursdays like the Leader Herald?

| Michael - the paper comes out on Fridays. You didn't get the pre-election edition because they went "missing." The distribution is limited to stores in Everett; it's not delivered. |

Michael, you can pick one up at Dunks, near the high school. Isn't it funny that those papers went "missing"? They were the only ones that had John Tumblins ad for school committee in it.
I wonder which minion did it? |

This is only rumor, but I had heard that it was actually DeMaria and Sergio Cornelio who commandeered the papers because of the piece Mitchell had put in about Carlo -- which, in all honesty, was a cheap shot -- and Sergio was upset because Mitchell predicted him to take a fourth place finish.
Again, this was only rumor -- one of the many that float around the city. |

| It was more than floated, Junk Resnut wrote about it in his rag and alluded to who it was called the act of taking the papers "cowardly" - He is such a trouble maker. |

Gee, I wonder why they weren't at their usual locations? I say it was Fredddie, in the closet, with Colonel Mustard, and a candlestick.

| mtrucker, you get it! Now there is no stopping the Fred. At least in his mind..It seems like a game of chess is being played out here in Everett. Fred gets another of his minions in the hall, by way of Andrews. He has the school committee. He has the stooges, retired or not. I hope everyone realizes Hanlon is not the saviour of Everett that they said he would be. Just another minion in Fred's go round. |

Well, I really think if the Advocate is to be taken seriously as a paper, they should be available consistently. I go to eat at D&D a lot and sit down inside. I have seen it there haphazardly, but they aren't there every weekend. They don't have any control over people coming and taking the whole stack, but I just think they aren't leaving enough there most weeks.

I think we need to be clear what day we're talking about that the papers went "missing." It was the Friday before the election.
I've never had a problem finding the Advocate, except on that day.
