I've been picking up my daughter lately and have noticed a City employee picking up his kids every day. I would like to know how a City employee gets to leave work every day to pick up his kids, is this being done at a cost to us taxpayers, does anybody know what's happening here.

It could be that this person is using his break time to pick up his kids; however, if a city vehicle is being used, there are insurance issues involved.

No Citizen, it's not a City Vehicle, but I'm there about a half hour early to get a spot and he's already there. With travel time back and forth that would be one heck of a break.

Maybe it's his lunch hour. Just trying to give him the benefit of the doubt . . .

Maybe he goes in early or stays late to make up his time. Like Citizen, trying to give him the benefit of doubt.

I just got back from picking up my coffee at DD, I bumped into a City Worker who tells me the employee is a mechanic at City Yard, he works mainly on the Fire Trucks. From what I'm told the Fleet Manager and the Fire Chief tried putting a stop to it and the employee threatened Jerry Sheehan with all sorts of Grievences, turns out he's also one of the union reps. HE's doing this on City time, he also leaves daily to take his wife to work and he's doing it all at the expense of the Everett Taxpayer. Grievences or not Jerry has to put a stop to this kind of stuff happening, if it's OK for this employee how can they stop any employee from doing the same thing. Getting paid to do your personal errands, not a bad deal working for Jerry.

I say let it be. Everyone gets caught at wrong doings sooner or later. It will catch up with him. I saw this Jerry for the first time when they questioned him on the plowing job (which sucked) and he acted like he could care less what we had to say sooooo what makes you think he cares about what his employees do?

If Sheehan isn't doing anything wrong, why would he care if someone is threatening to file grievances? Maybe a closer look needs to be taken at Mr Sheehan's job performance. No employee should be able to get away with not doing their job, especially by threatening the boss. Something doesn't seem right. I don't know if it's the employee or Mr. Sheehan.

I have found myself having to defend my stand on some issues. I have my convictions and I am not changing for anyone. Just like you Lynda when you felt strong about certain issues.

That is absolutely right Sally... stand for what you believe BUT what is up with all the "crap" just say what you want to without being a jerk about it. No one listens when you act like a child.
