Could you imagine... when we were Seniors we wouldn't be caught dead socializing with a 10th grader never mind attending their Semi.

I know it. Now half of the sophmores have girlfriends who are seniors. There were lots of seniors there last night. One who they tried to ban from attending, but then they would have had to ban all the seniors. In my opinion they should ban all the seniors.

Don't forget, this Semi is not a school sanctioned function. So, the parents that run it should be held responsibe.

I know that. The parent in charge tried to get one of the girls banned, even asked her mom to chaperone and she refused. They should make it so no 11th or 12th graders are allowed. I am sure they will do that next year. You do not need 18 year olds with 14 year olds.

Held Responsible? Did something more than these girls acting like drunk idiots happen?

Hello all. My son came home and told me the same thing about this drinking going on. Said that they looked like fools. However I do remember signing something that said that the Semi committee would NOT be held responsible for something like this. They set the rules and had the kid and parent sign the paper. I think that totally passes the responsibility over to the individual (kid) and the parent that signed the paper. Although my son was a guest of a Sophomore girl, I had to go down with him and her and get his ticket and sign this paper.
I realize I am a bit new here but let me ask... why would someone pick the "I am not a ho" as a screen name? Kinda odd.

Bobby, I heard from several kids that it was very obvious that there were several intoxicated kids there. It is really sad. With the 8th grade semi coming up and the junior senior prom I think parents should ask about having the police present when the kids are entering the function. They would be able to determine if kids were drunk. I would have no problem with my kids being searched (girls by a female of course) to make sure no alcohol gets inside. Many of them "pre game" before goign to the function and show up drunk. If they even thought they were going to be searched, I think it would cut down the number of kids willing to be thrown out of prom. They could just make an announcement about it and it would scare the kids a bit.

I spoke with my daughter and she didn't realize any of this was going on. She knew nothing about it. Which I guess is a good thing, unless she isn't telling me the truth :(
She is blond though... so maybe she honestly didn't know. LOL

I think the kids who knew were the kids who actually knew the intoxicated kids.

That is too bad that the kids would do that. I was just kidding I do believe that she didn't know anything about it.
