Was Borgonzi a city employee during the McCarthy administration?

So the difference here is . . . McCarthy didn't fire Borgonzi because of divided loyalties, because McCarthy understood how the game is played. A lot of people in that race did exactly what Borgonzi did . . . played the public game in support of the incumbent Mayor while pushing for the other guy to beat him. In this case . . . Borgonzi chose not to play that game; there was no way he was going to play the public support game for Hanlon because Hanlon and his merry bandits have made his life miserable since they took office.
Hanlon has managed to do in less than two years what it took McCarthy and Ragucci 4-5 times the amount of time to do -- alienate even his own previously staunch supporters. I'm not putting Borgonzi in that category; I'm just saying Hanlon holds some kind of record for self-immolation. |

Sorry CK but your wrong. McCarthy trusted Al and when he lost it became apparent Al was for Ragucci the whole time. McCarthy never had a chance to "fire" him because he lost the elecetion. Al then flexed his muscles with the new regime and helped push Ron D'Onfrio out the door. Hanlon should have fired Al 18 months ago but he didn't. Al should thank Hanlon for adding another year and a half to his pension. Previous post paint Al as some type of innocent victim but his a victim of a game he knows and played all too well for his own benefit. Of course he would work to get McGonagle elected so he could get his old title back. |

Yeah, he should've fired him 18 months ago, but he didn't, and now that he's had one of his people out sneaking around Al's house and reporting back, it makes it look like he was fired for political rather than performance reasons. |

Citizen you are so right in this city one has to play both sides against the middle to survive with the political system and I am sure it is no different in other cities. No one is canonizing Al Bogonzi what I said is there are 2 sides to every story and i will add and then there is the truth.

Here is a different spin on the news.
Borgonzi confronted the spys in the city services garage. He bullied and intimidated them so badly that the one of the spys had to go to Maclain Hospital for treatment, which will obviously result in a grievance being filed against the city by the employee.
Borgonzi was escorted home by the police after he was fired because he had to leave his city vehicle and had no other way home.
Lets keep in mind that the union steward (Hanlon supporter on medical leave)bullied some of the participants of the coffee hour (McGonagal supporters)who also work at city services. The mcGonagle supporters who were at Al's coffee hour for Joe were upset and in tears. This resulted in Borgonzi having the verbal altercation with the mechanics.

Ahhhh . . . Emile, it's so nice to have you back.
What you have there is closer to fact than spin, my friend. |

Well High
Sounds like you had a front row seat. Your spin may be closest to the real facts it is sad people have the need to spy when they could easily ask. I still think it is a sad state of affairs when one cannot back a candidate of their choice without out being condemned or harassed, last time i checked this was america and we had the freedom to support a candidate of our own choice. |

Please excuse me, but I'm a little lost. Could someone tell me who the spies are for and who and what are they spying on. |

I am starting to hear something really big is going down in the next few weeks and it has nothing to do with the audit. Actually, I'm thinking the Administration is using the audit as a smoke screen for this other issue. People, BEWARE!!!!!!!!! |

Okay so it is in the Schools? Is that the schools themselves (teachers, principles, administration, etc...) or the School Committee? |
