I was only able to catch a couple of minutes of the meeting. I saw the end of when Mayor Hanlon and Van Campen were talking about the audit. If I heard correct, City Government will get the audit on the 23 and then come back on the 30th to discuss it. When can the tax payers get it, the 23rd? |

massdee It sounded to me that he is setting the stage to prolong US the Taxpayers from getting this audit. I know that he stated at another meeting that EVERYONE would get this audit on the 23rd now he is so non shallontly setting up yet another meeting on the 30th for review? Huh? I know he thinks we are not that bright but, we are not stupid! SolidSnake I didn't get a ticket. LOL Fortunately I have a driveway and don't have to deal. Although I do have such VERY CONSIDERATE people who block my driveway, however, they put their HAZARDS ON so in their mind IT IS OK! |

Lynda, tell me about it. I live by the high school and almost daily I am telling these kids to stop blocking my driveway. It is now at the point when I just tell the police to come and tow them. Is it me or do these kids think they can do whatever they want? |

Did you guys also notice that there was no more mention of Executive Session last night? I seem to remember that when Hanlon first gave the April 23 date, he said the report would only be released in Executive Session. Now he's releasing the report on the 23rd, with a follow up meeting scheduled for the 30th. Does that mean that the report will be available to EVERYONE on the 23rd? |

Masterful1 I am NOT talking about kids in my neighborhood. I am talking about those who "no understand English" here! CK they never really made it clear as to when we get to view this audit. He had me so confused when he was done talking that I felt like I was trying to understand my children when I know I have caught them in a lie. |

Citizen, that was my original question. I think I will give one of our elected officials a call and see if he knows. If I find out anything, I will post it. |

I will as well. I watched the rerun to see if I could get an answer to the question, but the whole thing just raised more questions. |

The piece to pay the school committee was passed; I think McGonagle was the only one who voted against it. The piece to adjust the minimum/maximum pay scale for the other positions was approved as well; a couple of them voted against it -- DiPerri and McGonagle and I think Smith -- but it passed anyway. |

On the AUDIT----my take is Hanlon was going to release it to everyone on the 23rd but the Alderman asked for an advanced copy on the 16th and Hanlon said no.
They then made a 2nd date for discussion purposes on the 30th which is good.I think everyone gets it on the 23rd and more discussion will come the following week.
I remember Hanlon stating that the Audit report would NOT be done in Executive session correcting his original contention that it would be released in Executive session---That was quite a while ago.

I just got off the phone with an elected official, he tells me the taxpayers should also be able to pick up a copy of the audit on the 23rd. |

"Should" be able to . . . that's the key. Whether we actually can will be another question, I'm sure . . . I'm still not convinced it's going to be released on the 23rd. Anyone else as skeptical, or have I just become really jaded in my old age???
