Citizen, do you mean not released to our public officials or to the taxpayers or both? Joe believes it will and should be released to us and them on the 23rd. |

I don't believe it will be released to the public on the 23rd. I'm not entirely convinced it's going to be released to the elected on that date, but . . . I'm holding out hope. My feeling, though, is that he'll give it to the City Council on the 23rd and claim some sort of half-assed reasoning for "embargoing" it from being released to the public until there has been a full presentation and discussion on the 30th.

Legally doesn't he have to release it to us? I understand where you are coming from and it's not that I disagree with you. It just would be nice if Hanlon would do the right thing for once. |

Unless he calls for an executive session, I would say he has to release it to the public, because once it's released in a public meeting, it's a public document; however, if he chooses to ask that it be released in Executive Session and discussed there initially, I think that could be a way he could avoid releasing it for another week; and if he releases it in Executive Session, members of the city council are bound by law not to discuss it outside of that session.
I think that's how it works. Someone else out here might have a better understanding of executive session than I do.
Just given the seemingly tall tales he's been spinning through this whole process . . . I'm not feeling real confident that the 23rd is going to be the date. Maybe he's going to try to use this whole foolish business with that anonymous letter as a way to say the US Attorney's office has instructed him that the audit cannot yet be released until the charges in the letter are investigated, especially now that the Mayor claims he knows who the author of the letter is.

and speaking of the letter.........Mr McKinnon was seen meeting with Mayor Hanlon about the letter before that Monday's Common Council meeting. I really believe they were setting Laurrie Bruno up. |

I agree with you. It was all just a little too orchestrated. Badly orchestrated . . . but orchestrated nonetheless.

Did you read Ms. Bruno's letter in the Independent today? They all do need to apologize to her. |

I did see it. Good for her. I'm glad she's not just sitting back and letting them get away with trying to smear her name -- especially the Mayor. I mean . . . did he even have the courtesy to call and talk to her about this letter before he stood up and accused her in a public forum of criminal conspiracy? It doesn't seem so. At the meeting she seemed quite surprised by the Mayor's attack, but clearly she's regained her footing! Good going, Councilwoman! |

If they were trying to intimidate her, it backfired. I think she will get even tougher after this BS. |

Absolutely. And from what I understand, quite a few of her colleagues were less than pleased with McKinnon and the Mayor and are in full support of Lorrie and feel she was unfairly attacked.

I said it once and I am gonna say it again... She should run for the Mayors Chair. Think about it, could you see Hanlon going up against her? She would eat him up alive. |
