Your kids are not safe here period. People who have little ones may feel like they are safe in the elementary schools. Wait until they get to the high school. My kids are afraid everyday to walk into that place. There were cops all around the school at 2:00 today looking for someone. There were several teachers outside with the police sending the kids on their way. Obviously something was going on. But do not expect the school to keep you informed. They feel like the parents are idiots and they do not need to know the truth.
This person was talking about last Friday, anyone know what was going on?
I saw them pull over two young men and then explain that they pulled them over because they fit the description. I did not hear about them finding who they were looking for. And even if they did, they must have made some sort of threat to have all of those police and teachers outside of the high school.
I think it will be an added measure of security. I hope that all doors at the new high school will be locked as they are at the elementary schools. The kids will not be allowed outdoors at lucnh which will avoid the possibility of someone slipping in while the kids re enter the school. I hope the conduct procedures are looked over because they are all over the place with that. It is up to the discretion of the teachers it seems, and that means there are some kids who get away with everything. It should be like in the "old days" detention for every behavior or tardy issue. That would deter most of the kids. They have no consequences as it is now, and they know it and use it to their advantage.
