Mr. Shoeffhausen, I apologize for not responding to your question. No, I am not related nor do I have any ties to anybody in the School Department.
In regards to my budget, I understand everyone's concern, especially where money is coming from and going has been such a big issue in this city. I have actually started using some of my own money for things like bumper stickers, which will show up on the form that I must pass in. The reason I may have seemed so "defensive" is that although where money is being generated is a big issue (I don't knock you there), I do feel that candidacy should not merely be placed on money alone. What happened to campaigns that were mainly focused on ambitions of the candidate? That is another reason why I'm running. I want to instill the same values we once held true when electing people, and not primarily focus on finances.
Sincerely, Crystal V. Eason School Committee Ward 6 |

Crystal, the money issue comes up especially on a person running for School Committee. The Superintendent and others have been known to back candidates to help insure their election. It was nothing personal, everyone is just being careful. |

Crystal, I hear your boyfriend is Sergio Cornelio. He has been active in local politics for the past few years. I suppose he had some influence on you running.
