I was speaking of the "facts" posted all over the place. Just to clarify. ANd Thibeault will NEVER get a dump in this city.

Thibeault already has a dump in this city. I just hope he never gets another one. |

We need to have a debate of these two gentlemen so that we may have them answer our questions with each of the other standing there to reply with their thoughts on each subject at hand. |

Can you see the two of them debating? Carlo's brain moves faster than his mouth and Joe's brain and mouth seem to have trouble connecting. |

I would really like to see a "Meet the Candidates" night, and have them accept some legitimate written questions from the audience. I think that could be quite interesting. |

Get off the Public Speaking debate. Have you guys ever heard of Tom Menino the Mayor of Boston? He might not speak well but he keeps getting re-elected. Hanlon spoke well and we believed what he said. Get over it. |

I am looking for a "speaking debate" to get answers to questions and nothing more. I have no idea what JoeSister is talking about. |

I think what Lynda is talking about is hearing their view points, not grading them on their debate techniques. I personally don't think either one of them would win orator of the year but that has absolutely nothing to do with their ability. |

I have heard from the City Clerk about the Campaign Finance reports, this is as of 8:45 this morning.
"Have to admit that this is one area I still have to bone up on. To the best of my knowledge, there are penalties for not filing on time. However, I could find no instance where Everett ever enforced those penalties. It appears that the candidates were hounded until they filed, even if it was late. This is something I will have to review and create some process."
Hanlon 9/10 McGonagle 9/7 DeMaria is supposedly filing today.

massdee maybe I am slow but what is it that you have to bone up on? Is there a way to post these reports with the contributors and how much they gave? Why is DeMaria so late with filing? I am curious as to how much Thibeault has at stake. |

Hallowed Dreams, I am sorry I wasn't clear. That is a copy of an email I received from the City Clerk. He is talking about boning up on the law about the penalties for filing the Campaign Finance report late. I believe you can go to city hall and get a copy of these reports. |

Wow . . . I'll never take a break from the boards for a long period of time again when there's so much going on!!
Massdee, you can obtain copies of campaign finance reports from the city clerk's office. You have to pay for the cost of the photocopying, which I think is now fifty cents a page.
As for Thibeault and his plans for lower Broadway, if he owns the property and his plans fall within existing zoning laws, I don't see why he would have to come before the Common Council or the BOA to do what he wants to do. Carlo's association with this person is a problem, and it is going to be interesting to see how Carlo tries to work his way around it. But to think that this is not a legitimate campaign issue is just unrealistic. These guys are politicians, not boy scouts, and each one of them will use whatever ammunition they can to achieve their goal.
Taylor . . . let me ask you this. People voted Mayor Hanlon out of office. Why would you or Carlo think that having his support would be a benefit to Carlo's candidacy?

Carlo said something about how he accepted campaign contributions from him but that in no way meant he would rubber stamp anything.
