Okay folks, I'm watching the BOA rubber stamp the cuts the CC made. This whole thing was handled poorly and certainly shows us it's time for a change. A BIG change.

Does anyone know how we go about it? Is it too late to get it on the ballot this year?

I just turned it on and it was over. What did I miss? I think you made a error in your post justme "This whole thing was (not) handled poorly" Did you add that word on error or was it suppose to be there?

Thanks Lynda!

I started to say not handled properly and changed my mind.

You didn't miss much of anything. The BOA did rubber stamp what the CC did last night. Jason made sure the viewing public knew they needed to vote with the CC in order to get a budget in by the 15th. Stat blamed the whole mess and the large increase in the budget on the administration and said they should have been paying attention. VanCampen said they need to stop pointing fingers and that many of the cuts made shouldn't have been because the cuts were made without the proper input from department heads. He also mentioned that the mayor would be requesting transfers early on because the cuts weren't right and the fact is they really aren't helping anything if they start transferring in the same budget year. hanlon listed several copy machines that would be removed tomorrow because funding was cut and employees would be fired including one that was being transferred from one department to another and his salary was cut because the CC (Rosa) thought it was a new position.

This is, of course, my words, not necessarily theirs, but you get the idea.

justme, I think Peter Napolitano or Joe Hickey could answer your question about the charter.

Thanks massdee. I'll try to get in touch with one of them. I think it's time.
