Well, my wife and I joined the Y up in Malden. Its a bit pricey as compared to Gold's, but we really needed a place to work out and unlike Gold's, Bally's, or our own rec center, the Malden Y has facilities for the whole family all year long, a brand new building, and great hours. Up until I heard about it, from a referral at the Everett Rec center, it was impossible for me to run or play basketball so I could get in shape (in the icy dead of winter months anyway).

For those of you who can spare $67/month for a family, its well worth it. They have a competition and recreational swimming pool, a therapy spa, a full sized basketball court with a men's league that will be starting soon(individuals welcome including non Y members, only $5 per person per week), racquetball and handball courts, and a posh track to go along with state of the art equipment. They even have conference space. You can't beat it.

Woot!

I am an average resident of Everett who would like to see more communication about anything and everything to do with Everett
