It looks like Frank Parker drew the short straw. He was the only sitting member of the School Committee who submitted a campaign video to ECTV. The strangest part of it was that he spent most of it campaigning for Mr. Carriero from Ward 6, who is the only member running with any opposition. The guy can't even campaign for his own seat! And in the slide show of the candidates that they are running on ECTV 16, he doesn't even have a slide! His opposition, John Mavilio had a slide but didn't bother to submit a video!. So much for change on the school committee. Stat Smith alone won't provide it.

Wow - but knew Frankie was a "water boy" for Fred, but I didn't think he'd exert himself for Carriero. Doesn't the fact the majority of the school committe is so arrogant that they don't think they should bother campaigning? Same old Frank, though - Fred probably told him to do it.

Stat may not be able to change vote outcomes with his vote, but he'll work to make sure these guys are far more transparent in their dealings than they are right now. Right now, it's all cloak and dagger.

Court,

You really need to see this thing. It's pretty over the top. Parker goes on and on about how Carriero has been a part of his life since the 8th grade. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

I agree that Stat will be an element of change on the school committee. I hope that his presence will help to bring Guiliano out of his shell as well. I really don't blame him for lying mostly low during his first term: he would have devoured by the rest of the committee had he tried to do too much. Stat's stature within the community will allow him to do much more. I hope he plans to stay with it for a while and it encourages more people to run for these seats in the future.

I'm going to try and catch it tomorrow. Frank used to love carrying the water for McCarthy, he's made a career of it for Fred - and now he's trying to carry Carriero over the finish line. I hope the other guy wins - I don't care who it is. I wish Tumlin has run again - that would have been a beautiful addition to the school committee.

Stat's going to need hipboots to get through the muck at the school committee, and a shovel for all their BS. Thank God he's got the stomach for it.

I just finished watching Mr Parker's video, tetris, you are absolutely correct, it was a stump speech for Mr. Carriero. I'm with you Court, I will not be voting for Mr. Carriero or Mr. Parker, or for that matter any of the incumbents except Mr. Guiliano.
