Well, not a shining moment in Everett politics but not an absolute train wreck either. |

Tetris, to be honest, there really aren't many shining moments in Everett politics. When Marcus was asking questions of the mayor about Keverian, and the camera scanned over to Carlo, Carlo appeared to be very uncomfortable. Did anyone else notice that? |

Well, Carlo should have been uncomfortable. If he didn't have a hand in the firing of George K., he should have been man enough to do something about it. I'm not sure what the vote of confidence will do, but at least they all voted "yes". I wonder why Wayne M. hasn't shown up for the past two BOA meetings? Imagine - Carlo as Mayor - Wayne as Alderman at Large and hanlon still in the background? We are entering the twilight zone......... |

I don't believe the vote of confidence will mean anything except Carlo did the right thing in voting "yes." Maybe when Carlo takes office he will do something about this situation. Do I believe he will? No I don't. I think he had a hand in this firing as much as Hanlon did.
If I was a member of the board of alderman I would have asked to go into executive session and invite the mayor to explain his position on the firing. |

I know this won't be popular, but unfortunately, now that Keverian has hired a lawyer, Hanlon was right in refusing to say anything about the situation. Mind you, I think he would've taken the same approach if Keverian hadn't hired a lawyer, but anything he were to say now becomes part of any legal action Keverian decides to take, including, I think, anything said in executive session. All of that could be supoenaed by Keverian's lawyer. |

I didn't realize that the minutes from an executive session could be subpoenaed. I thought it remained private that being the case then you are right. The mayor could not respond. I also agree even if there were no lawyers involved the mayor would have given the same answers since he has done it so many times before. |
