if you are wondering why the news copters are flying around and the press is in front of the police station breaking news on their web site guns at everett high two people arrested but details are sketchy.

Student arrested after BB gun found at Everett High School

A student at Everett High School was arrested this morning after school officials said that police found a BB gun.
The school was locked down after the principal received a report at 8:45 a.m. that a student had a weapon on campus, a school official said. The principal called police, who searched the school and found the BB gun.
The name and age of the student was not released. The lock-down lasted about an hour.
Additional information was not released.

Why in the world you would post a childs name is beyond me. But, the child you mentioned is actually a 20 year old man who no longer attends Everett High. You have the wrong information, well part of it anyways. I am not naming the children here because that is against the rules here correct.

I agree, Emile. I don't know if Sally is right when she says the person you name is a 20 year old man, but if that's the case, how likely is it he'd be at the high school with a BB gun. If that's not the case, he's being accused of something for which there is no proof. Although your comment has been up here for a while today, I'm removing the information.
If the student or students in question are minors, they should not be named here.

The 20 year old mentioned was NOT at the high school. It was another kid with a similar name.

My un-named source at the White House was mistaken.
Plausible deniability, Senator.
Sure let's protect a kid who brought a weapon to school. Good idea. God knows what he'll bring next time. A real gun? A knife?
Who protects the kids in school? Doesn't a parent have a right to expect their child will be safe in school?
What about Columbine? Virginia Tech?
The school needs metal detectors to protect the good kids from the lunatic kids.
My guess is every kid and probably every parent in the school system knows who it is by now.
Let's keep it a big secret.

The point is, Emile, that the person you mentioned did not commit a crime. Your sources were wrong; we don't have any information on this incident that can be verified, and when you're talking about private citizens, the stakes are little higher than when you're sitting around speculating about the activities or behaviors of public figures.
I'm no liberal pantywaist, Emile, but as the saying goes, where does a person go to reclaim their reputation?

These kids were 14 years old. I agree what they did was REALLY stupid, but they are still kids. There was an incident at the beginning of the year where they found a knife on a student. The administrtion and the police believed his story about accidently bringing a fishing knife to school. They sent him home to be tutored at the cost of the taxpayers, for the remainder of the quarter. He has since returned to school. The bb gun incident does not surprise me at all. Word is these kids with the BB gun,wanted to be caught and expelled. They told several other students about the gun.

Emily I have been reading this blog right along but have not contributed lately. But, I must say... what the heck is going on with you. It started with the Mayoral race and hasn't stopped. You really need to take a drink or two and relax.
If that kid you mentioned was mine, I wouldn't be happy to say the least. It is one thing if your child "does do something stupid and very wrong" and another to accuse them when they did nothing. This is Everett you know you are guilty once it is implied whether you did it or not! |
