What's the sense of declaring a snow emergency if the plows and sand trucks don't get out and do the job? Whoever is in charge of the blue lights knows how to turn them on. Unfortunately, whoever is responsible for getting the job done (Jerry Sheehan) must think they’re advertising K-Mart specials!

They are predicting five to ten inches of snow starting tomorrow night into Monday morning. Lets hope we see a much improved plowing job.

Emile, Fatcharkie answered this on a different thread. It is Brian Zaniboni. He is Carlo's campaign manager and a former truck driver.

Since they have called the snow emergency ban early enough and it begins at nine tonight, I hope they get out there and tag and tow the cars not parked properly. I would like to see the secondary streets tagged not just the main roads. If they do this a few times people will quickly learn to park properly.

People, don't forget, we are in a new year and the parking is on the even numbered side of the street during a snow emergency ban.

No politician has the stomach to propose a tag and tow ordinance and certainly will not advocate enforcement.

Political suicide.

The police will complain they do not have enough manpower, etc., everyone will have some excuse.

That is why nothing will ever change in this lovely but sometimes tedious city.

They do not have enough officers out there to tag the side streets. It takes them all night to get all the main streets. They should have the parking enforcement out there. BTW there is no school tomorrow. I just got the recorded call from Mr. Baldi.

The police union won't allow parking enforcement to help Sally. That would meant they were taking work away from the police.

This is one of many instances where a union is so concerned with "protecting" it's members that the general public suffer. The police are always very quick to tell us that they're too busy to do the menial task of writing parking tickets. It's unfortunate but they won't let anyone else do it either.

That's a good thing michael! Now if they also tow we may come out of this in good shape!

I'm anxious to see how Sheehan's replacement handles this storm. Today is going to turn into a "test" for him............... It won't be hard to do a better job than what we've seen recently, but I'm hoping for minimal problems and complaints.

Obviously, like many others, I really want to see this administration succeed. We've had a tough couple of years. It's time we get a break and see something good for the outrageous taxes we're paying!
