One can only hope that hanlon is no where to be found. One can only hope that the next two will be Pedulla and D'angelo - Good for Carlo - clean out City Hall and clean up the City!

Just wanted to jump on here to say that Carlo did a great job last night, his wife looked beautiful and very polished, the kids were very mannered and perfect. What a ideal family to represent our city. The best is yet to come. I think that all of the hesitant people are going to be pleasantly surprised by a job well done!

This is all I have at the moment. As I understand it, he had a meeting with all department heads this morning. Coffee, doughnuts with a lot of kissing (the ladies), hand shaking and back slapping. He indicated everyone would need to apply for their positions so it came as a big surprise when this group was let go.

I imagine there will be more. I hope he continues weeding out the unqualified but leaves those that are hard workers in place regardless of who they may have supported........... Time will tell!

Hey Lynda, You should be writing the social scene section for the Independent. Everyone looked beautiful......

Nice job!!

You will still be saying "Give the guy a chance" after six months, a year, etc., ad nauseum.....

This guy just doesn't have it to be a successful mayor. His children are more intelligent than him, and probably speak better as well. Especially because they go to private school. Always a plus in his mind. Everett public education not up to his personal standards?

The voters got what they wanted with Hanlon and they will get the same with this guy. He has no clue.

Regards to the donutlover1965. Oops, I mean coffeelover1965. Same thing I guess for her.

What is the problem with wanting your kids to have a caholic education? I believe his kids went to public school and then they put them into St. Anthony's. They probably got a good look at how poorly our school are functioning in this city. Sugar coat it all you want, we are not performing to the standards we should be. If I could go back to when my kids were young, and I had the means, they would have gone to a private school too. Let's be honest here.

Oh here we go HighCh already started and he has been the Mayor for all of about 12 hours, i understand that you are a member of the green and white crowd who just cannot let go. Get over it, you put all your eggs in the McGonagle basket and that effort was a miserable failure. So keep up the negativity and bash Carlo every chance you get it wont work, the voters of this city sent a message in November, and there is a new machine at City Hall a machine that will be there for as long as they chose to be. Its about doing the right thing and getting rid of the dead weight and letting everyone know who is in charge without being petty and vindictive about it. I agree that Padulla should be next and hopefully he will be sooner rather than later. Again like always im sure i will be attacked for my comments out here, but remember i am still the only one who signs my name to everything i print. PAUL D. DOBBINS

You're beginning to sound mean and bitter Emile. We're all aware that you didn't support Carlo, but there really isn't any reason for you to continue with the doom and gloom predictions.

If/when he does something that deserves criticism, jump right up and drive the bus over him. Feel free to say "I told you so". But for heavens sake, give it a rest until that happens.

For the record, if I had school age children, they would be going to St Anthony's too. Our school system is a disgrace. Where is it written that because you're the mayor your children have to have a public school education instead of the best you can afford?

Fran & Massdee, Thank you for the email however, this is a perfect example of why I am not interested in sharing my opinion any longer here. I have children and do not want to deal with childish people in my down time. Sad really, to think that this is all this person has to offer to better their community.
Go pat the pup and release some of that tension.

As most everyone on here knows, I was a huge McGonagle supporter and worked on his campaign. I have a difference of opinion with Mr Dobbins. Joe's effort to run for mayor was not a "miserable failure." He failed to win the election by 313 votes. That was not a mandate for Carlo, no matter how you spin it. I personally wish Carlo all the best and want him to succeed. It is what is best for Everett. Emile, has every right to his/her skepticism. I am sure there are some former Hanlon supporters that are just as skeptical. A lot of us have reservations about Carlo, that does not mean we want him to fail, that would be ludicrous. Most of us are rooting for him and want to be pleasantly surprised. Just my opinion.

I could be wrong but I thought I heard at one of the meetings that the Assistant City Solicitor was someone named Collen Meher. Please correct me if I am.

Colleen Mejia is one of the assistant city solicitors. She has been there for almost ten years. Excellent attorney.
