Let's see if I can simplify it. Someone is breaking a parking law at 23 Baker Road and the resident there wants the violator towed. |

Thanks, got it!!! There is a neighbor who parks across my driveway late at night and is gone very early in the morning, should I have that put on the agenda? We tried talking to him, he doesn't understand and we don't speak Portuguese. |

If someone is breaking the law, whether it’s parking on a curb or blocking a driveway, don’t you call the police and have them towed? I’m curious as to what the problem is there. It sounds to me too that it does not belong on the agenda. Will that mean Lou will show up Monday night? He one of the ones that are never there. If it is parking on a curb, or driving over a sidewalk to park on a lawn, I could call one of my councilors and have that on the agenda every week! |

We have such a diverse community, it is next to impossible to communicate with some, I personally don't want to see them towed. They really need to learn to assimilate, and become active members of the city. |

I can understand that not wanting them towed, you’re a good neighbor, but, I see it so much more today than ever before. From my personal dealings with people that block driveways and drive right over sidewalks, the majority do not speak English. My big issue with that is….they can’t speak English, but they have driver’s licenses and are breaking the law. Me….I could never block someone’s driveway, not even half way (I see that an awful lot) I would park 12 blocks away before I did that. |

I agree, I would NEVER park across someone's driveway. Tails, are you really sure they have a driver's licenses? I am not convinced that they do. An example of this, when the over night parking first started, a neighbor was getting a ticket every night, finally he was towed, he never retrieved his vehicle and just showed up with a different vehicle. Shortly there after he moved away. So, of course, he got away with it and never payed his tickets or the towing. I am sure this happens all the time. |

Not a lot to comment on this week but, I'll take the opportunity to eat a little crow at least. Sure that I can come up with a little bit more too.
6) I guess I owe an apology for my posts about this item when it was on last week's BOA agenda. In doing research for my Wood Waste post yesterday, I found out that under MGL, there is a difference between solid waste and recyclable materials. Therefore, I agree that this change is needed. I guess what I'm surprised about is that this change was never made when the old recycling bins were first introduced. Obviously, it was much easier for anyone to move one of the old recycling bins than it is the new ones. I still believe what's really needed to make the issue go away is some additional education and, if that doesn't work, the handing out of fines. The proposed change will be necessary so that the fines will hold up. The item probably needs to be sent to R&O to draft the appropriate language for the change.
7) Tails' second favorite issue is alive and well. Anybody betting money that this is the last time for this item? Didn't think so.
10) There needs to be a better way to handle double poles. I have a selfish interest in that; there's one in front of my house. In my case, I don't think that it's National Grid's fault. 11) I'd like to see a copy of the City Council rules available online on the city web site.
12) I thought that President Bruno was requiring people be invited up at the meeting prior to when they were scheduled to appear? Does anyone ever see the dog officer out patrolling any more?
13) See the first part of #12.
15) No problem with the item; but, is the sign to be on city or DCR property? DCR property could be a issue.
16) "Face time" issue. I've posted enough about this already. |

Took a walk by 23 Baker Road tonight. There is a fire hydrant in front of the house. If the piece had been but on the agenda that all vehicles parked in front of fire hydrants should be towed, I don't think that would have have as much of a problem with it. |

All they had to do is mention hydrant, and everyone would have understood the problem, even me. |

3 + 4. I guess that DiFlorio doesn't watch the alderman's meetings; but then again, why don't all the members get copies of all of the information that apply to the items on the agenda?
6. I think that any ordinance change that is submitted without the specific language for the revised ordinance should be automatically sent to R & O so that appropriate language can be drafted. I don't think that I could vote for an ordinance change if I didn't know exactly how the revised ordinance will read.
7. Not just once, but twice; Tails will be pleased. Why would Diversified send someone who is clueless on the matter? But he did know exactly the wrong things to say. Open the gate? I knew Ranieri would blow his top sooner or later. He did hold it in longer than I thought he could; good for him. This will never end; but, at least we get a break at the next meeting.
8. This is another one of these issues that just never goes away; this one just seems to move around. Sounds like the storm water drainage in a large portion of North Everett is messed up.
9. I probably shouldn't go there but let's gets this straight. The Fire Chief does manage the size of the piles at Schnitzer due to spontaneous combustion concerns. Does that apply to all sites where materials that can spontaneously combust are stored?
11. Does anyone know if Billy Cardello's point was correct? Even if the committee is eliminated, doesn't the line item belong to the city council, not a committee of the city council? Is there any money left in it anyways? The celebration was held before the fiscal year started but I assuming that it was paid for from the FY09 budget.
12. I don't write many tickets but let's raise the fines. I'm glad that DiFlorio caught that. A dog park by the river, which might be an OK idea, just isn't the answer to this problem. This item went nowhere.
13. Who was the person representing the solicitor's office? I didn't catch her name.
15. Let's hope that this request can get expedited so that the sign gets put up soon.
16. I missed what happened to this item. I'm assuming that it was laid on the table because the sponsor wasn't there. Go figure.
Was there really any reason why this meeting should have lasted the better part of two hours? |

I kept getting phone calls during the meeting. It sounds like I didn't miss much. I did see Tails favorite item. I thought Mr Baker was condescending and at times rude. |

I believe it scamore I see riding around the city with donna venza, and the lamonica girl in her truck, and if she loves animals so much why does she call the blonde meter maid to help her catch the animals.. time for a new dog officer. wake up carlo you let everyone else go and this is wasted tax payers money, she takes so long to answer the calls, and to show up with no tickets that is a red flag |
