I read the following on another blog.

On Tues. night, there were gunshots & cops investigating & searching. Last night (Thurs.), about 12 undercover cops & one uniformed cop - 6 vans and cruiser, took someone out of a house (most likely unrelated to Tues. night's gunshots - different house.) What is going on in Everett?

Gangs. They are out of control in Everett and that's another reason why we need a teen center. This discussion will take place Tuesday night and I am very interested on what the deciding voters have to say on it and I think many taxpayers would agree this is needed in Everett. If I had to pay a couple of dollars more and it kept one kid off the street,then that's a couple of dollars well spent but, it probably would not even come down to that because there is all kinds of funding for this kind of stuff.

I doubt the pool is going anywhere.....it is heavily used in the warmer months. We definitely need a teen center, but not as a replacement for the pool. If anything, I would like to see them knock the rec center down (which is essentially just an indoor basketball court) and replace it with a larger structure that houses a teen center and multi use court.

That would be perfect. Hopefully, there is state or whatever would be available funding for that.
