Erin may be good at what she does, but she is a lawyer by trade. It's just like the Mayor complains to Van Campen that "he talks like a lawyer too much" Well.......so does Erin. She stands at the podium and talks in circles. Talk to us...talk to the people.....stop thinking of things to say so everything looks all "good and great"
Fining Wood Waste will not solve anything. Fines and appeals are his life style. The lawyers don't care because they keep getting lawyer fees. |

I don't think they let Councilor Simoneli talk at home and that is why he grandstands as he does. he thinks it make him look like "all that"! |

I don't know Councilor Simonelli personally, and I don't always agree with the way he goes about things. With that being said, I believe he truly cares about the city and it's residents. His heart is in the right place. He was elected by his ward and should be treated with the same respect as any other member of the council. |

Totally agree, once again Massdee........ to be quite honest with you, I dont care if Mickey Mouse was the individual who got up to speak........
At least someone is. We've been totally left by the side of the road with the rest.
So YaHoo for Steve Simonelli, Millie Cardello, and Robert Vancampen...........thus far, their the only ones who havent forsaken us and have an inkling who they are responsible to.

I just heard that there is going to be an all out attempt to go after Simonelli to try to prevent him from being elected back to his CC position.
Politics in Everett at it's finest. |

He is very popular right now. It's the one's in ward one that are not. I have to say with the exception of Millie Cardello.
I'm not hearing anything about her but I'm hearing a lot about the alderman and Napolitano. They are not very popular right now for their "lack there of and silence" for help on this matter.
Then when he does speak, he insults people and calls a public meeting a joke?

I have now heard from four different sources that Sal DiDomenico will be running against Wayne Matewsky for the Alderman at Large seat.
Also heard, Steve Simonelli will be running against Jason Marcus for Alderman, Ward 2 seat.
One more, Robert Van Campen will be announcing he is running for mayor, early in December. |

Good news
Better news
Great news
Hope it all works out and the city goes back to the people, not in the clique friends.

Won't it be great to see Matewsky and Marcus out of Everett's city government. Where do I sign up to help get those two dopes out of office. |

From what I understand, Fourth Street was part of the original P&S. However, Woody's Tire's was awarded the easement in court.
So the question is what has more power.......a court order or a P & S. I always thought you should follow the court order.
Purchase and Sales agreements are drafted incorrectly all the time. I believe this one was too. A lot more was done incorrectly on this matter but the city council is choosing to ignore it. |

From the above referenced document itself, from the page found in Book #44907, Page #296, below is the description of the easement that was awarded to Woody's in this judgment. In this description, Woody's (Beach Garden LLC) and Donna Wood are the plantiffs.
"Under G.L. c. 183 s. 58, the plantiffs have an easement to use Garden Street as a way, including the portion of Garden Street that crosses Fourth Street and continues on to Revere Beach Parkway. The plantiffs further have an easement on the Touraine Paint Parcel side of Garden Street insofar as they may continue to park cars and maintain the storage container. Moreover, the plantiffs may continue to use the sides of Garden Street as a work area, provided that they do not block its use as a way."
The city's original discontinuance of Fourth Street was for the entire street. After this easement was granted, the city, in order to attempt to fufill the terms of the sale of the city yards as best as they could, decided to re-discontinue only a portion of Fourth Street to a point somewhere short of or at the point where Fourth Street intersects with Garden Street.
Therefore, it is well within Mr. Thibeault's right to block of the portion of Fourth Street that he now owns. Neither he, nor Woody's for that matter, have the right to off to block any portion of Garden Street, including where it intersects with the remaining portion of Fourth Street, as it still is a public way. |

Which brings about the question YET AGAIN....... "Why, oh Why was the Purchase and Sale honored"? Never in my life have I ever heard of a P&S being upheld after 90 days comes and goes. Wasn't there alot of discussion in the last administration about the P&S not being valid? That P&S was over seven years old..... and the monies never changed. NO ONE EVEN ASKED THE DARN QUESTION...... Which begs the second question.............Why does an individual with NO Everett ties get preferential treatment? I

The other option was tear up the P&S and put it out to bid again....at considerably less money in this economy. On top of which, even a new sale would have included that street.....why would the city want it? |
