Michael . . . not to discourage you, but if you want to teach here in Everett, under the current school administration, you will most definitely "owe" someone something, and that someone will be the Superintendent. And if you don't "play ball", so to speak, you can expect your experience here to be less about teaching and more about battling to maintain your position.

| Michael - there are plenty of the underserved right here in Everett, but I would advise you to run - don't walk, away from trying to work here under the current school administration. The fact that you called it what it is on this website - "corrupt" will put you in a bad light with this bunch. No truth-tellers need apply. Go to Cambridge, or Somerville - where your passion and conviction will be welcomed with open arms. You would also probably get a chance to coach football! |

Michael, Chelsea has come a long way and the SPED director there is VERY progressive.
Don't do anything in Everett until the gepetto posse' has been run out of dodge. |

| Michael, you don't want to work in Everett until you're ready to be bitter, and mean to kids. I think that it's WAAAY too soon for that. I also heard good things about Chelsea, and of course the Newtons and Belmonts of the world. |

Chelsea is great, I worked there before during my graduate school fellowship. But the salary they offer is pretty low and the turnover of young teachers is very high. They have no contract system in place and union is quite weak. It is certainly something to consider, however.

| There is no union weaker than Everett's. Liston has been in bed with management from the word go, and I have been waiting for teachers to finally get sick and tired if his lackluster support. This sad ass union has allowed Fred to illegally lay off the new teachers each and every year, in violation of state law. Find another community, Michael, at least until Fred goes to trial. |
