I have to agree with the above poster, it's over for the mayor cause he hates being mayor and he is chicken cause he needs woodwaste to win an election. "I will be Mayor forever" maybe the donut maker but not the mayor forever I think your time is up. |

Unless someone steps up to run against him, he'll continue to be our mayor. Has anyone announced they're going to make a run at him? |

I don't think anyone has officially announced, but Carlo didn't jump in the race until May, so I guess there is still time. Having Billy's money is a HUGE advantage to him although, it's Billy that's been the cause of people's sleepless nights, sinus headaches, nausea, canceled events, all in Everett AND Newburyport. Believe me, people are sick of it, and sick of the mayors nonchalant attitude towards it.
If anyone believes that CRAP story from Jason MarcAss that he did his own poll, and Wood Waste was at the bottom of the list, I'm sure he has a bridge to sell. He did that the same night yet ANOTHER Laidlaw becomes an appointment.
It's time for Jason Marcus to go, and before November. His ethics are in serious question.

Is there anyway to have an elected official removed from office other than an election? I don't know. Does the mayor have that authority or the Board of Alderman? Anyone know?
I hope someone announces soon that they are running for mayor. I can't imagine two more years of this.

Just from doing a little research, a Governor can remove a mayor, but I'm not sure if a mayor can remove an elected official. I'm sure if gross misconduct is involved, the mayor can do something.
If anything, he can recommend Marcus to step back. As each week goes by, Marcus just keeps digging a deeper hole. He's a complete moron and it makes me ill that he's being paid by the taxpayers. |

Could the mayor place Marcus on an Administrative leave or something like that?

I don't believe that there is anything in the Everett City Charter that allows for the removal of elected officials within city government itself. |

Who is it that calls for an election recall? Also, how about a motion of no confidence? |

I know that recall is not in Everett's charter, so that's not an option either. I hope the Charter Review Committee takes a look at adding recall to the charter.
There must be something that can be done to remove a sitting city official. What if Marcus were to be found guilty? Does that mean we are stuck with him if he doesn't resign?

There has to be something that the mayor can do. Lets call the Solicitor, she supposed to work for the people, right? |

the mayors parking space=== can't remember one that had their own parking space.. jon norton car parked in handicap all day is that fair to our seniors who need to conduct business at city hall?
Word on the stret 3 captains, 3 sgts and 3 lt's are being demoted. The chief should live closer to Everett maybe that will be an issue for the new person who is running for mayor |
