Why cant every city worker take a pay freeze, and I mean EVERYONE an no raises. I understand about contracts, and I also understand that contracts can be re-negotiated, in time of crisis, and time of crisis is here. God forbid anyone has an emergency, and your in a life and death situation that calls for immediate police response, after these layoffs, it "aint gonna happen"
There are so many other avenues to look at other than safety. I don't know why the Mayor is hell bent on going after safety.
We also had a violent summer last summer, which with the economy still in a downward spiral, one can only predict more violence. Good luck to us all. |
