I absolutely agree with that. I feel it is not proper use, and people are going to get sick of it, and not listen, and that one time, it's going to be an emergency (which is what it was designed for)
I get them all the time......."Mayor Carlo DeMaria Jr's Movie Night" "Mayor's Cultural Festival" It's always a call to promote the mayor. |

I wish they would use Reverse 911 more often. Maybe to do things like remind people about street cleaning, public hearings, parent/teacher nights. It's an inexpensive way of getting a message out. Why should it not be used? |

I always thought reverse 911 was for public safety? If not, then perhaps it should be used for something other than to promote the mayor! |

Without a doubt, this city is in violation of quite a few state laws and I knew these vehicle purchases were done incorrectly, but shouldn't that read "hundreds of thousands" I don't remember purchasing "millions" in vehicles, but I could be wrong. If we spent millions on vehicles, I would hope a fire truck would be in the mix somewhere that our firemen and woman need for their safety.
If we could do what ever we wanted with the money of the old city yards, then that should have been priority #1. I'm hearing it come up a little at a time at common council meetings, I just hope Peter Napolitano follows through. Just like I was pleased that Peter brought up the fact that it was stated in the budget hearings that Mejia's raise was a consolidation of Solicitor/ Personnel director (which everyone else swept under the rug) he just went along, to get along.
After all that, it's in committee anyway. What a waste of time.

That may be so, but it doesn't make it right and doesn't mean that it shouldn't be reported either. |

My point was this; if the city was in violation of one tenth the laws claimed on this forum something would have been done about it by now and the Mayor would have had an opponent.
If they are in violation then name the law being violated and who you reported it to. |

I was referring to the website - citizensforeverettma.com They claim many violations.
Too me, ensuring that sale for Billy Thibeault and all that money Billy pocketed, is criminal enough. |

Why on earth would you waste your vote on Michael Marchese? Casting no vote for mayor will send a clearer message and trying to put Marchese in is absolutely crazy.
Haven't you had enough with the less than intelligent mayor currently in office? You want to put another less than intelligent person in? Isn't one enough?
We need someone with a brain in the corner office and that leaves Michael out............... |

Vote for Mike Marchese for Mayor? Where were you 4 years ago when he ran and he didn't make out of the primary with Ragucci and Hanlon. |

You know, I don't much like what Carlo is doing and there may very well be illegal activity taking place but I really can't abide seeing this stuff with nothing to back it up. citizensforeverett.com may, or may not, be accurate with what they're saying but until it comes from the AG's office, it's nothing but rumor.
And........... I believe if you check, you'll find that cities and towns DO NOT have to go out to bid if they're buying from Municipal Headquarters. |
