Today is the day to start pulling papers. I hope there are many interested viable residents. We need a "big" change at city hall and the school committee.

Can we also get the papers to be put on the ballot for the Charter Committee?

According to the piece in the Advocate last week, papers were available for all seats starting today, including Charter Review.

A woman pulled papers today to run for Mayor. I am waiting for confirmation of her correct name.

I have confirmed that Teresa Morris has pulled papers to run for Mayor. The confusion was with her maiden name.

Has anyone else heard any names for any office?

Just came from Walgreens, Frank Nuzzo has someone out collecting signatures for him, Alderman, Ward 1.

I am happy someone is running against the mayor! I pulled papers Tuesday to run for common council ward 5 and will be out within the ward to collect signatures the upcoming weeks.

I STRONGLY disagree with Joe Hickey. I know he did a lot of work on it, but he's too closely connected and works for the mayor.

That's kind of disapointing to me. I know that Joe Hickey was supporter of charter reform when he was on the council. But I'm not a big supporter of city employees running for any city offices as a rule, even though it's allowed by MGL. Dottie Martin? How many Wayne Matewsky surrogates are going to attempt to get on the committee? Charter review needs people with open minds, not ones that are likely to be resistant to at least considering change.

As much as I hated what happened to the veterans office, and becoming so political, would it be in the best interest of the veterans to replace Joe Hickey?

My issue was the statement "Gone are the days"..............I still feel Walter Rice was the best man for that job, and the veterans. For me, that falls on the mayor, and that was one of his MANY blunders.

got to meet the young woman who is running for mayor this morning as she was out getting signatures all I can say better looking than Carlo she can be my mayor anyday. She has some great points on helping our fire and police and city workers that are being laid off, she will cut her salary in half as a mayor should do when times are tough.

I asked her about the Chief fo Staff position and she said it's wasted tax payers monies when that money could be used to save jobs. I wanted to talk more with her but the kids were acting up.
