Lt. Cristiano? Well, wouldn't that be the perfect payback for the help his wife gave to Hanlon . . . |

Ok first of all you can forget about Internicola that will never happen. Lt. Cristiano is not even in the running for it, and like i said in a previous post Mazzie will be given one more year. If you look at the current Captains Bontempo, Basteri, Henry. You can absolutely rule out Henry and Basteri because they are hated down there Henry more so than Basteri but they are both equally despised. I would say the two top choices would have to be either Lt. Flammia or Capt. Bontempo, either one would not receive any resistance from the rank and file. |

That's interesting that you would challenge Michael on this Jane, considering nearly everyone on this forum, including yourself, has access to information and that that access may go away if you start saying exactly who you are. I don't get what the point of asking if he is a cop is, considering none of us have any idea of what you do or what you were doing down at the station yourself....
Since the goal here is to maintain an open discussion, I would like to see the implication of someone's identity be kept to a minimum. There is nothing wrong with calling someone on a point if that point is weak one or you have information that counters it. However, I can see no way that this discussion is being advanced by asking michael what he does for a living. If he wants to tell us all that, then he wouldn't join the forum anonymously....
I'm making no limitation here on your comment, by the way Jane. I'm sure you aren't the only one curious about people's identity. I know you have been "accused" of being a few things youself. Your comment will stand and Michael can answer to it if he wishes. I just don't like the direction this is going.

mike i happen to know michael and so don't a few people out here so whats wrong with sending a message that only a few will know what i am talking about. I work for the police station and have been accused of being from a big family that is not true. Did you send sunshine an email in her message box. I think not |

Well Jane, I guess I did hit a nerve - and you just about gave it away... don't accuse me of anything - you want facts, I'll give them gladly. I know you work for A police station - not the police station...so give it up girl |

Well...that was some vote tonight. What courage, such bravery from our Board of Aldermen. Do you think Marchese has pictures of them in ballerina tights or something? Because this is what happened: our esteemed Board of Aldermen gave Michael Marchese exactly what he wanted. It's payback time for the drug bust at the bar. |

Richie, you're going to be even more shocked as the years go on. Mr. Hanlon also owes Fred Foresteire. |

The Everett Board of Aldermen last week declined to confirm Mayor David Ragucci's reappointment of Police Chief Steven A. Mazzie, instead referring the matter to mayor-elect John Hanlon.
The action, which came on a 4-to-3 vote, leaves uncertain whether Mazzie's tenure as chief will extend beyond Jan. 29, when his initial three-year term expires.
Ragucci, who leaves office in January, had asked the board to reappoint Mazzie to another three-year term.
Hanlon, the current city clerk, unseated Ragucci in the Nov. 8 election. Hanlon, Ragucci, and Mazzie could not be reached for comment at presstime.
Ward 5 Alderman Robert Van Campen, who offered the motion to refer the reappointment to Hanlon, said it was not because of any dissatisfaction with the chief.
''This has nothing to do with his ability to the job. I don't think anything that was said at . . . the meeting should be construed as negative towards him. There are many of us that have a lot of respect for Steve Mazzie and recognize the work he has done as chief," Van Campen said.
Van Campen said the matter was one of ''process and protocol."
''We are in a situation where we are three weeks away from changing administrations. . . . Considering Steve Mazzie's reappointment is not up till the end of January, it seemed the Hanlon administration should have the opportunity to meet with Chief Mazzie and to make that appointment," Van Campen said.
Alderman at large Carlo DeMaria, who voted against Van Campen's motion, said he recognized the protocol involved in allowing the new mayor to make his own appointments.
But given the personal relationship he enjoys with the chief and his belief that Mazzie has done an excellent job, ''I couldn't bring myself" to vote against his reappointment, he said.

Court, I always wondered why he posed for that picture? I guess it was funny at the time.
But not now.
Very poor decision when you are in politics.
