The clerk was shot in the leg, and he's going to be okay. Is it me...or is this starting to get scary? We had the stabbings on Ferry, and now a shooting at the corner of Bucknam Street and Bradford. What the hell is happening to this city? |

Fast-acting Everett cops chased down and arrested two men suspected of robbing a store and shooting a hardworking store owner just minutes earlier last night. A pair of men hit the small Bradford Street store about 8:15 p.m. and shot Mohammad Ali in the right leg before fleeing with his cash register drawer. Everett police said a description of the getaway car was broadcast and minutes later a patrol car spotted the vehicle nearby. After a foot chase two suspects were arrested and police recovered a gun and the cash drawer. Witnesses identified the pair as the robbers and police removed a door handle from inside Kipo’s Market and Deli to gather fingerprints. Mohammad Islam, brother of the victim and co-owner of the store, paced in front of the business last night. He said they’d never been robbed before. Police said both suspects were in their early 20s, but did not release their names or the charges against them. Building owner Charles Kotsiopoulos said the brothers bought the store from him five years ago and own one in Malden, working 14 hours a day for their piece of the American dream. “They’re good people,” he said. “They work all day long.” The store is a couple blocks off Main Street and sits on the first floor of a five-unit apartment building in what Kotsiopoulos described as a quiet neighborhood. At the hospital, doctors numbed Ali’s leg and X-rayed it to scan for bullet fragments, a friend said. “He’s going to be OK,” said Ali’s friend, waiting for him in the Mass General emergency room. “He’s got a big family around him.” WHAT IS THIS CITY AND SURRONDING TOWNS COMING THROUGH WE HAVE HAD ROBBERIES WITHOUT SHOOTINGS BUT, THIS TAKES THE CAKE.

That's an interesting idea. How long has it been since there were foot patrols here?
I am an average resident of Everett who would like to see more communication about anything and everything to do with Everett |

EVERETT -- Two men were arraigned today in connection with an alleged convenience store robbery Wednesday night.
19-year-old David Bordanaro of Everett and 24-year-old Bruno Pompa of Malden were arrested about one mile away from the store and charged with masked armed assault with a dangerous weapon.
According to police, the suspects allegedly held up Kipo's Market & Deli on Bradford Street and shot the shop owner's brother in the leg.
The victim was treated at Mass General and is expected to recover.
Police say they pulled the suspect's vehicle over about a mile from the store and arrested the suspects. Authorities also recovered a gun believed to be the weapon used in the robbery and a money drawer.

Is that the same family involved with the King Arthur's incident?
Bordanaro?
The name sounds familiar...
