You are so right. AR is the ringleader pushing for the "chosen one" to be the new CC Pres. He his too young and inexperienced. AR has resorted to basic blackmail to get the votes for his little guy. This is going to hurt his "chosen one" in the new election. The more mature, experienced member is being unfairly targeted and those members who are doing that should lose reelection.

Okay, are we talking about Sergio and Peter?

Sergio was next in line according to the "Ranieri list" we heard about the end of last year/beginning of this year. Also, it's normal for the favored candidate of the out-going president to run at least a portion the last meeting of the year. So that was a sign too. I don't see how this is warranted. I don't believe that Cornelio has even been the CC chair of any sub-committee in his vast three years of CC experience. Smart cars. What else?

If the rumors are true about him running for Mayor, of course Peter wants the position; it raises his visibility. But if the rumor is true, even more reason for his potential opposition to put up a fight against it. Like I said earlier, I only see two sure votes for Peter, his own and Miller's. Some of the "senior" members may lean towards him. There may be just enough votes for him to pull it off put it won't be easy. The funny thing is, if he gets all the other votes he needs, it could all come down to Billy Cardello. Since Cardello is the "real" chairman anyways, it may come to whoever he thinks will be easier for him to push around.

Exactly. This type of game playing is what makes me crazy about the members of the city council. There are few who really try to do the job for the people of the city and not for and between themselves. I fear that if Sergio gets the chair, he will not allow those who didn't vote for him--and Peter particulary--to have the opportunity to present their issues. Unfortunately even Charter reform won't stop this type of behavior. People should call their Councillor and let them know that if they go along with the "Raneri game" they won't vote them back in next year. They don't deserve to be members on the CC.

The question is, how loyal is Raneri to the mayor? If the mayor has his full support, Sergio is a shoe in. I'm not so sure how Billy Cardello feels about the mayor. The handwriting is pretty much on the wall with the rest of them on the CC.
