| The fact of the matter is WHO cares if these gentlemen are gay or not? It really is none of our business their sexual preference. There is so much more going on that whether or not their gay should really be of no ones concern. |

I agree with that Lynda.
Its good to learn about how residents can get information, though. I just don't think I have the patience to listen to a police scanner. I just got a hold of a way to see the council/aldermen meetings each week (I have a dish instead of cable) so hopefully I will be less out of the loop. I find the local papers' decisions to include/exclude certain information to be annoying when I am trying to get an honest view of what's going on. I don't know if the sensationalists at Fox 25 are the most reliable source of info either.
I am an average resident of Everett who would like to see more communication about anything and everything to do with Everett |

I only turn on the scanner occasionally and I hear plenty. The EPD is a busy place.

| I remember, and not that many years ago, what you heard on the scanner were traffic accidents and cars to be towed for illegal parking. Boy, things have really changed. I personally think it is mostly due to the demographics of our city changing. |

Oh you would be surprised by some of the names you hear on the scanner. Many long time Everett residents. It is not limited to any ethnic groups believe me.

He trying to make the Everett PD like boston Pd, look at the simple things he's done, change the badge to look like boston PD and the patch as well, where is the originality there? There is none, is plagerism a form of flattery? Not in my book it isnt, it shows you dont have a creative mind of your own.
Also he managed to put most of his officers in SWAT like outfits all blacked out, I mean seriously what are we at War here at home in our streets, I mean I know our country is fighting in Iraq but not here in the city of Everett.
Chief Mazzie should change his name to Chief Amazzie short for amazing.All he has done is create special police units like his own mini swat team,just goes to show what happens to kids when they watch to much magnum pi and the A team. He's like a kid in a candy store he'a puppet to his men.
They want toys and he buys them. Hey Chief do you get a kiss when you bend over?
Also consider this he's to young and inexperienced for the job, he has no real prior experience to lead a police dept, he was police capt for ten minutes then he was made chief, he never had the experience to be the chief, he broke out the sweet lips and knee pads and he cleaned up when he was done and he got the job, plain and simple, he's nothing more than a beat cop with a gold badge who has no business running the dept with No REAL expereince.
But it could've been worse, the job could've been given to Capt Rick Basteri who has the expereince of being a leader, although he's a slimy bastard too, he REALLY would of gave the house away.
Now there is Capt Henry or Bontempo or Flamia who are good qualified canidates they would do a good job. However this is Everett for ya, so we dont pick the right man for the job, we pick the wrong man every time.
So we are stuck with a 39 year old over grown (with his goofy looking hair do) imature, inexperienced adolesent con-artist for a chief. Chief ryhmes with Thief, Hmmm how poetic. Thief Mazzie, sounds fitting to me.
So until Mayor Hanlon knocks him down to dog officer which is where he belongs he's the chief.

What an ugly post, Joe. Really, you need help. It's practically comical that you even have to pick on his hair style. Do adults do that where you come from?
I happen to know and admire Chief Mazzie. When he was first made chief, I had concerns about his youth and experience. I don't anymore. I think he's done a fine job, although I think the department may be under-resourced. |

| Joe Blow is a real winner i think he should get the idiot award if there is one. I agree with those who say he should be banned from the board. I am new here and i think his kind of commentary is way off base. We have a hard working police force who i think does a great job. |

Are you serious you forwarded my post on to Thief Mazzie, Cmon now what do you think he's going to do about it, or should I say what do think he can do about it? He's going to read the post and WHAT, WHAT can he do about it. Nothing it what he can do about it, because fortunatly for YOU and ME freedom of speech cannot be infringed upon by the police.
Yes the moderators can throw me off this site and they may, I dont they should, but I dont hold those controls.
1st of all Sally read my post I spoke my opinon, if Thief Mazzie has a problem with it and he's that thin skinned then he should promote himself to Dog officer and remove himself from Thief of Police.Its that simple.
However you mentioned something interesting, you mentioned if I'm posting from home and if I'am they can "track you down". YEs they can if there is a crime taking place, or someone is in danger. However Sally you cannot be tracked down and be prosecuted for speaking your mind. This is not CHINA, or North Korea this the great USA and in case you havent figured it out yet we have rights that protect us.
Sure Thief Mazzie and his minions will run to there computer and try to figure out who it is, But unless they break the law themselves, they cant they have no choice but to sit back and read. Or if they dont like it that much then like I said before dont read it.
Sally, I dont read what I dont like. So Thief Mazzie can just move his mouse to the upper right hand corner ( and you can to if you choose) and hit the little red x if your not liking what your reading. Or you can click the green arrow in the upper left hand corner.
It results in the same action, But anyway It is my opinion that Tief Mazzie is Completely and totally unqualifed for his position and think he would be a better canidate for the dog officer. That is my position nothing the Chief or his minions or you could ever change that, not even if he broke the law and came to my home,what I'm saying to you I would say to his face, and I actually have already so I'm not hiding from anything or anyone.
You can either love me for my brutal honesty or hate me, the CHOICE is yours.

I love people who try to use the freedom of speech argument as their excuse for spewing hate and invective. Try actually reading the first amendment. It has to do with government control of speech and the press, among other things.
Free speech comes with certain responsibilities and consequences. Just ask Don Imus. |
