No Citizen, I agree. But, it does appear to be so much worse since we have been invaded. I too have many people now living in my neighborhood and they are friendly however, I must say, here anyhow, that they do think that they can do as they please, when they please, park wherever they want (in front of my driveway 99%of the time) and when you say something you get either "I NO speak English" or " I will just be a minute" and those ever famous hazard lights they put them on and they think everything is just fine.

It seems that these problems have become more noticeable since the demographics of our city changed. It is very hard not to link one with the other. Of course, there has always been some problems but not to the degree of it now. Th e Federal Government has to do something and do something soon. The borders need to be closed so this country can absorb who is here. Immigration really needs to begin to deport people they catch here illegally instead of giving them a court date that they never show up for. The illegals are taking away service for the people who are born here and are legally living here. |

Oh, I know. That's usually when I call the police. Believe me, while the claim not to understand English, they seem to understand the word "police" without a problem, although I have to say the few times I've had to ask one of them to turn down their music or move their car, they've always done it. I do understand, of course, that my experience is not always the case.
Isn't the Mayor supposed to be putting together some sort of group to work with all of the local churches to try to at least make these "new arrivals" part of the community and help them to understand that it's as important for them to "assimilate" as they say it is for us to be tolerant of their presence? I wonder what the status of that group is? |

Many do not have drivers licenses or car insurance, can't read our traffic signs and are a hazard on our roads. They also add to the parking congestion on our streets, take up hospital beds, take up spaces for students, and on and on and on. We never needed to have code enforcement in this city before, and we, the legal citizens are the ones who end up paying for it. I do not mind helping people, but let them come here legally and "assimilate" to the USA. My grandparents came from Italy, they learned to speak and read English, they never gave up their heritage but they were proud to become American citizens. The new wave of people coming into this country do not have the same qualities. Could it be due to the fact that a vast number of them are not here legally? It is so frustrating. |

True massdee... Many do not have drivers licenses or car insurance, can't read our traffic signs and are a hazard on our roads. BUT THEY STILL DRIVE!!!!! That in itself is a whole other problem. |

and then when they are stopped by the police, the police cannot even ask what their immigration status is. Now, isn't that sad. Even if the police know they are illegal, the police have their hands tied and cannot do anything about it. It's a catch 22. |

That's a federal issue . . .
Now, I can't speak to the law because I really don't know, but if you are pulled over for driving without a license, without registration and without insurance, can't you be arrested? I would imagine at the very least that the car would be impounded.
Anyone know the legalities on that score? |

the car does get towed but, here again a problem in the real world you must register the car in "their" world they register it get it out of the tow yard send down an aunt/uncle to pick up the car etc.... next thing you know the car's insurance is getting dropped and you are back to square one.. that is what we are seeing on the streets everywhere not just Everett. Now with our new governor he is talking about giving every illegal a drivers license the people who are here illegal get an "A' number and a "X" number this way here we know they are here on a working VISA but that could change soon. |

The Registry of Motor Vehicles issues plates with an X on it, for people who register cars but do not have a license. It is the existing policy of the State. You do not need a valid license to register a car in this state. |

This just isn't right. How can you register a car without a license! I am not saying that you are wrong donice, what I am saying is it is just plan WRONG! I understand that a adult may want to register a car for their child maybe that just got a license, however, you don't have to meet any criteria to register a car do you? So why can't they just do it themselves? I know maybe for the insurance but not the registration. |

Lynda, the registration and the insurance has to be in the same name. That is why a lot of parents will register their kids cars. I for one did not do that for my kids, as a home owner I didn't want the liability to fall on me. |
