That's what I thought, Massdee. I laughed out loud at the line that said Hanlon had fired almost no one of importance . . . please . . . let's see -- the budget director, the treasurer, the auditor, the procurement officer, the city solicitor -- and replaced them with either leftovers from the McCarthy administration, people who had been part of the Ragucci administration, or "friends of a friend." So . . while the paper's support of Hanlon may be waning a bit, it's clear the anger and bitterness toward Ragucci lives on . . .

Citizen, obviously those departments are not important, look who Mayor Hanlon replaced them with. I think the Co-Dependent has figured out that Hanlon will probably be a one term Mayor and is going to try back pedaling a little. He doesn't want to lose his city ads. I will have to watch and see if Resnick continues to bash other mayoral candidates.

Walking Eagle will get many more votes that you give him credit for.....

He was elected wasn't he?

We know he has alienated many people, but there are plenty of old timers out there that will vote for him nevertheless.

I don't know, I think the older generation is going to be really pi**ed over their tax bill. They will blame him for not giving the residential tax break and not vote for him. I am sure their will be some who will still stick with him but I feel more will not. Well, at least I hope that is the case.

I agree the old timers will not vote for him because of their taxes going up. I think anyone who runs against him is a shoe in. I cannot wait to hear (if we ever do) what the audit uncovered. I cannot think of one thing this man has done right in this city. And what is with all the Vegas trips?

I think a lot will depend on how many run and how the vote splits out. If Van Campen gets in and Hanlon stays in -- that's a lot of the same base. What will those people do? What about Carlo? Does he seriously think he has a chance? Remember . . . Wayne Matewsky beat him in the primary for his at large seat in '05. McGonagle . . . who knows? What's his base, and what are his "connections." Who are the people around him?

If Hanlon fails to release the audit findings in full, that will hurt him, because it looks like he's trying to hide information to protect members of his own administration.

And then, of course, if Carlo does run, who runs for his seat; if he doesn't run, who runs against him . . . seems like Wayne is acting like his plan is to take a shot at the seat again . . .

I was told if Carlo runs, Mike Marchese will run for Carlo's seat.

He could, and you would think that would be the one he would go after but I was told it was the other seat he's going for. Maybe to stop Wayne? Who knows how any of them think.

Believe me, I'd check myself into the closest mental health facility if I started thinking like most of them . . .
