I think it is to early to speculate but i believe that ultimately former Mayor Ragucci will run for the State Rep seat, but of course the rumors are already flying that he is building a house in Lynnfield and leave the city altogether.

The Lynnfield rumor started about 6 years ago. Real old news. I heard he was moving to Dracut, just down the street from Johnny Mac.
Why would anyone move away? Mr. Hanlon has promised to make Everett a fabulous place to live now that Ragucci is gone.
Besides Everett IS a great place to live. The school system is great, the people are nice, the tax rate is the lowest around, we have new businesses on Norwood Street, a new Mall, new schools, new streets.
All this is already here, John doesn't have to do anything. Just make believe he did it all.

I bet that Ragucci will move out of Everett he can't even look people straight in the eye anymore. He will be leaving for Aruba or Bermuda this coming week for a couple of weeks now I wonder why? He didn't even show up at the Armory for Veteran's Day he sent Robert Jordan now that was rude your the mayor of this city till December 31st and I bet he won't be around for the lightening of the Christmas Tree either.

Michael...did you think that Ragucci's absense had to do with the fact that he has already left on vacation? Now you're speculating about the Tree lighting already. That's how it is with you people- you speculate and then eviserate. Why not simply bask in the glow that your man won and leave Ragucci and his family alone. You won. No one likes a sore winner.

Michael, so then why write from the angle that you're writing? You called Ragucci "rude" without knowing where, when or why he wasn't at the Veteran's event. His elderly parents may have been sick for all you know. Yet...you called him rude. So for a guy who doesn't live in the city, you have a lot to say about things you don't know about.

Really, Michael . . . you left the city because you didn't like the way it was going? You didn't stay to try to right the ship that you thought was losing its course, so you're opinion is suspect. And by your standards, now that Hanlon will soon assume office, the ship should start righting itself anyway -- so why not be gracious in victory and let the rest of it alone. Frankly, what the Mayor does with his private life at this point is none of anyone's bloody business. Let him move on in peace.

Don't worry about anything, now that the Hanlon Team, (Hanlon, Johnny Mac and Freddie, and of course Marchese) is on board, Everett will be Utopia.
All the streets will be perfectly clean, residential parking will be in full force again, he will scare all the newcomers (Brazilians) away, the expatriates of Everett will return from Saugus, Lynnfield, and Peabody to live here again, and the taxes will be lower.
And much, much more....
I am anxious to see this all happen. Hanlon will be our miracle worker saviour.
We all should have voted for John Hanlon sooner. My eyes are finally open.
Everett will be perfect now.

According to the papers (I think the Globe), Ragucci says his only plan is to continue living in Everett after his Aruba trip. I have heard rumors that he is going up to Lynnfield, but I think he would need to stay in Everett because his best political alliances are here, right? That state senate seat two years down the road might look pretty appealing to him now.
I am an average resident of Everett who would like to see more communication about anything and everything to do with Everett |

The senate seat is up for grabs next year, folks -- 2006. So if the Mayor is going to run for the seat, he better put his Nikes on and get moving.
