This morning on the channel 7 news I caught the end of a newscast of a fire in Everett that broke out at about 4:00am this morning. I don't know where it was or if anyone was hurt. Did anyone hear anything about this?

I heard it, but I caught the tail end of it as you did. It looked like it was lower Broadway, down the line, but . . . I'm not sure.

Early morning fire erupts in Everett

EVERETT, Mass. – Firefighters are still on the scene of a fire in Everett this morning.

The fire broke out at this three-story building just before 4 a.m. this morning.

People living there were driven out of their homes by the smoke and flames, and there is no word of anyone being hurt.

At this hour, firefighters are still on the scene, putting out hot spots

Down the line? Citizen, you have lived here a long time, not many people know where the line is. Do you remember the T-station that used to be there?

I do. Do you remember the dump that was a cross the street from Sacramone Park, or when we had fireworks?

Ah, a trip down memory lane.

Yes, I've lived here a long time, and I do remember the old Everett Station. Lord, was that place a dump!

Unfortunately, I don't remember when we had fireworks; massdee, did they do that across from Sacramone Park?

Anyone remember the drive-in at Wellington?

The bowling alley in Glendale Square?

Or when we had a movie theater?

Those were the days, my friends.

Was Wellington drive-in the twin or was that Meadow Glen?

CK there was a drive in at Wellington as well. I remember those days.
And the Park Theater with the balcony, that was fun.
I don't remember the Bowling Alley in Glendale Square though.
Masterful! How can anyone who grew up here not know the Line?

There were fireworks every 4th at the Everett Dump, which is where Melon is now. Then they moved them to Glendale Park until a house in the projects caught fire and that ended that.

I remember the bowling alley in Glendale.

What about Kressges up the square?

The movie thearte on Broadway?

Kennedy's Butter and Eggs on Norward Street.

The bowling alley was in the basement of one of the buildings where the hairdresser and the flower shop are now on the left hand side going up Broadway, across from the gas station.

The chicken man on Myrtle Street?

Gorins, and WT Grant, and Raymonds and Liggett Drug . . . the Glendale Curtain Shop, the Deluxe Rail.

Ahh, The old Park theater, home of many a conquest.OOPS, I mean memories. LOL
I used to watch the movies sitting on the roof of my dad's station wagon with my brother and sisters down at the drive-in. What about the knife sharpener man? He had a cart with a bell that he would ring to let you know to bring out your knives or scissors. The fireworks were always awesome and for some reason we never got tired and nobody ever fought at the park.
