Ahh, but the strawberries that's... that's where I had them. They laughed at me and made jokes but I proved beyond the shadow of a doubt and with... geometric logic... that a duplicate key to the wardroom icebox DID exist, and I'd have produced that key if they hadn't of pulled the Caine out of action. I, I, I know now they were only trying to protect some fellow officers...

I think the parking enforcement people have a chance to pay for themselves if the job is done right.

I would like to see them start with 2 and as they pay for themselves add one and if successful another--eventually if they do their job right they would put themselves out of a job since everyone would be parking legally---I won't hold my breath waiting for that.

SS...you know that your very commonsense approach would never fly. Outcome based hiring would put at risk the "family values" espoused by our Mayor - "hire every family member of all my supporters." It's not about what's in the best interests of the city - it's about what's in the best interests of the family and friends who are politically connected to the mayor.

Commonsense, commonsense did I hear commonsense mentioned for something to do with city hall? Isn't that a oxymoron?

Let's see if we have this straight? The jobs weren't posted or advertised, it was solely by "word of mouth," yet people from outside the city were able to learn about these jobs and apply.

Word of mouth? Like "telephone, telegraph, tell-a-Hanlon supporter?" How about "Radio free political patronage?" C'mon...no campaign promised broken with any of these hirings! No sirree!

It's pretty arrogant to think we're this stupid.

It is pretty much on the same line as when "The Mayor" said we wouldn't be able to understand the audit. I just never realized how dumb we all are.
