The word from the High School is that the new School Resources Officer is really cleaning the place up and not taking any garbage from alot of the punks who run around up there thinking they are running the asylum. One of the biggest problems is the out of town thugs who congregate between the Alamo and Pleasant St from 2-3pm when there is city ordinance on the books that they are not to be in that area if they do not attend the school, and that it is an arrestable offense. Several arrests have been made in the last few weeks and i assume more will continue until these gangbangers get the message. It is refreshing to see someone who does the job without having to be concerned about Freddy Bulger, the puppet Obremski, the Mayor or anyone else in the school department who is on a power trip. Kudos all around to Officer O'Donnell and continued success.

Excellent news, Justthfcts. But usually if someone is that effective, Fred fires them.

Makes you wonder how usable Glendale will be when the school is there. Anyone who used the park before will be screwed.

Well in this case Court, he has absolutely no control or for the most part no say in this one, because before it was the school department who picked up the tab for the cop but now the salary is paid by the City and the police department and that punk Obremski already tried to throw his weight around and try a power trip but he was put in his place from Day 1.

It's amazing how effective things can be when they get free of Fred? Thank you for letting us know, Justthfcts, about this resource officer. The issues with Obremski are well known, though. What's he gonna do when it all comes down?

Well, if you're asking about Obremski, his whole family will be screwed. His mother, sister and brother all work the school system. If anyone went to school with Charlie in immaculate conception - this flash back will crack them up. This girl, Sharleen Paris beat the **** out of Charlie. she and her cousin my pal kath were in like 4th or 5th grade. He's been trying to assert himself ever since. When kath told me that story I almost died. This little girl in her little uniform sending charlie home crying. Man, that explains a lot about charlies treatment of the kids in this city. Maybe we threaten him with opening another schoolgirl can of woopass on that sorry sack. Boy, Fred must do a groin check before he promotes anyone. Nothing but a bunch of eunuchs.

Officer O'Donnell is doing his job up at the High School the other resource officer made friends with the kids and now we have an officer who doesn't take any crap. Good for Officer O'Donnell keep up the good work. but you like you said because he is doing a wonderful job we will wait and see what happens up there.

When the school moves next year I pitty Ward 3 I know what's it like just trying to get down Broadway in the morning.

Wicked - the moral of the story? Do not mess with the tough, uniformed women of the Immaculate Conception. What a great story.

Lisa, there will be 210 parking spaces at the high school, versus the 15 or so on grounds and the parking on the street. It will be a helluva lot better than what we have now.

Those 215 spaces will be taken by 730AM. Once the students realise there are plenty of parking spaces all of them will drive.

Not if they're reserved....and that's what most high schools do, and most often, it would depend on grades, etc.

Again, I say "Thank you Court".

Didn't know about the parking situation.

By way of explanation. I was fortunate and somewhat brilliant. I went from grammar school directly to graduate school at the University of Austria.

who talking about parking their cars I am talking about the traffic parents dropping their children off to school making the loop and coming back onto Elm street unless there will be drop off area up on russell street who knows we all have to wait and see what happen in the next couple of years maybe plans will change with Hanlon takes office. This city has more surprises than a surprise birthday party. Smile

Lisa - have you actually seen the plans? There will be a drop off, and if you can't imagine that it would be an improvement over what's happening on Broadway at the old site, then you've not been on Broadway or Linden Street during the rush hour. The majority of the kids attending the high school live at that end of the city, and hopefully - they'll walk. Plenty of them walk now, or take the bus.

well, it's gonna piss off drivers who are used to relative speed going from Broadway to Chelsea street with little or no delay. My point is that it's not just the cars. These kids don't exactly use crosswalks or wait for the "WALK" light. You can bet on them sauntering at a snails pace and shooting you a dirty look for daring to drive on the street they are parading across. I can't stand it.

Lisa, Wicked,

I can understand your anxiety, because change always does provoke that...but the high school rush is from 7:30 AM - 8:15 AM...and then after 2 PM. This will not create that much impact in that area, and it will mitigate the hell on earth that we currently have on Broadway. Teachers will come and park...instead of driving around looking for parking on side streets and Broadway.
