The parking will spread to the neighborhoods as we figured. Whomever said there are more high school students in the Elm St. Area is totally wrong. Kids coming from all across the city will NOW use more autos instead of MBTA busses. Then wait until school dismisses. You will have 2000 students walking through Glendale Park. It will never be the same again. Heard they already have flooding problems by the new concession stand. Great planning.

Kellianne - at the hearing on the high school, the demographs demonstrated that the students were coming from that area of town. If you have information that PROVES otherwise, please post it. You say having 2000 students walking through a park is a bad thing? Having them walk on Broadway - is better? safer? less traffic?

They do not walk down the middle of Broadway. They will be walking through Glendale Park which has been one of the most beautiful parks anywhere and ruining the work that is continually maintained. Don't tell me that the high school students from Main St, Bow St, Chelsea St, ets, are not going to take their own vehicles and park whereever they please. It happens already with people using the pool, skating rink, Glendale park, Rec Center, etc. As it is when you drive down Elm St, especially during football practice, people are crossing whereever they want, never using the lights or crosswalks. I am suprised no one has been seriously hurt.

Kellieanne - I cannot believe that you are worried about children walking through a park. It sounds to me like you really care about their safety. And Kellie - other communities have high school parking lots and they don't let the students necesssarily use them unless they have the grades, etc. And perhaps if there's a big parking lot, the football parents won't have to park all over the place and can enter the park through the new parking lot? But then....they would have to walk on the grass, and that would be a problem, wouldn't it?
