If our mayor had a brain, he would have hauled Sheehan over the coals for his p*ss poor attitude and crappy non answers. HOWEVER, Hanlon does the same thing so I guess Jerry is just following the leader! Had the plows been out when it was snowing, instead of after the rain started, the streets would have been in much better shape. Did he ever explain why they waited? |

It's incredible, isn't it? This was just a little storm that turned ugly because of piss poor planning. I would hate to see what would happen with some of the storms we had back in the day. This guy wouldn't know what to do. And it wasn't like it wasn't well advertised; everyone knew that the temperature was going to drop and cause everything to freeze over. |

If I understood what was being said, they didn't have contractors lined up and by the time they made the decision to call them, they were already out on other jobs doing -- you know -- the work for the communities that actually had a plan in place.
Well, kids, hold on to your hats, because they're predicting some snow for tomorrow night but a pretty substantial amount for Sunday night. Get out your snow shoes and cross country skis, because with the kind of planning our City Services Director has done so far, that's the only way we're going to get around the city. |

Hopefully, the ice we still have on our street will be melted in time for the new storm. If not, oh boy, is it going to be hard driving.. |

Jerry Sheehan has always been a wiseass, and very very arrogant.
He is arrogant now, but wasn't arrogant when he was cleaning toilets at Jordan's Furniture.
That was his previous job.
Is that why Walking Eagle felt he was qualified to run City Services???
That's what $90K gets you these days.
Tax dollars hard at work.

As I think about it, arrogance is the name of the game amongst many of Hanlons people. Think about it....... Ventrano, Ravanesi, Sheehan, Andrews, Deangelo, Crusovick (I know I killed that one!), Hanlon himself, and many more.
In my experience, arrogance frequently originates with the fear people have that others will become aware that they're in over their head. What do you think? |

Well . . . for the money he's being paid, he can tone it down and answer the damn questions.
I agree, justme, that when people behave this way, it's a defense mechanism; however, when there are legitimate questions and safety concerns, taking a combative stance because you don't know what the hell you're doing just doesn't cut it, don't you think? |

I didn't take it as him being wisecracking. I think he was rude and disrespectful. The City Council was doing their job. Sheehan should try doing his. |

There's more snow coming....a bit of a dusting today, but Monday is looking like we could have some fun. Hopefully, Mr. Sheehan will have the plowing contractors on speed dial. |

Replaced or getting some help? And I was not condoning Jerry Sheehan's attitude at the meeting. Since I have yet to see the meeting I will reserve those comments for a later time. I was just saying as someone who knows him, he has an abrasive personality. I happen to think he is a nice guy and I know how to take him, but I understand the comments about him being rude and crude.

Louie, I hope you're wrong about that. That would be a real injustice.

Oh, I believe you heard it. I'm just hoping that you either misunderstood or whoever said it had their information wrong. |
