I just watched the re run of the council meeting where Jerry Sheehan appeared. I was prepared to watch him act like an arrogant jerk and instead was not surprised to see that Billy Cardillo was the only arrogant jerk at the meeting. Jerry answered the questions that were asked. It was a horrible storm and I saw first hand how any efforts to salt and sand were washed away by the rain. And I am saying this as a resident of one of those streets that was not sanded until late on Thursday. I used two big bags of salt outside of our house and it was all washed away. My husband and my daughters boyfriend both fell flat on their backs at different times after the storm. If Mr. Sheehan had called in every available contractor at the perfect hour, and had declared a snow emergency before the evening news, people would be compaining about what a waste of our tax dollars that was. He was in a no win situation. What he said about them plowing water was the truth. Billy Cardillo was telling tales about how he was out all night working in Somerville, Chelsea, Everett and Malden during the night and their streets were clear. Then he went on to say that he left for work at 5:30 am, which one was it Billy? Billy came out in attack mode because his friends the contractors are upset that they lost a day of plowing. A truck on every individual street that night would not have stopped the ice from forming or the chemical from being washed away. I think he made a good call.

It's nice that you want to stand up for your friend, but since you seem to be the only one in town who thinks Sheehan made the right call, it's obvious your opinion is somewhat slanted. Placing the same post in multiple threads is making you look a bit desperate. Are you more than just a friend? (as in wife or daughter?) |

I am not related to Jerry Sheehan in any way shape or form. I only know him as a neighbor years ago. I have probably spoken to him 4 times in 15 years. I am not Lynday either, but believe what you want. I am just saying that all the talk about Mr. Sheehan being rude seemed crazy to me. I thought Billy C. was rude and Jerry answered their questions. I do not know what else to say. Well except that if anyone disagrees with the majority here you are accused of being somebody else @@

| Sally - I called you "Lynda" as a tongue in cheek reference. It just seems that if anyone on here criticizes anyone whom is known by fellow posters, then we are treated to a full court press. Mr. Sheehan is well-known for his lack of social niceties....and if he's going to be a department head, then he really needs to polish up. |

I did not see any instances at that meeting where he was rude. I would have let Cardillo have it if he talked to me that way.

| Perhaps, because you know him, his curt answers, facial expressions, and body language appeared "typical". To those of us who don't, he looked and acted like a sullen child. Yes, Billy Cardillo was quite harsh when he was questioning him. However, I think it was a natural reaction to Sheehan's "why are you bothering" me attitude. He needs to learn to act like a professional. |

| Our streets are again snow covered and slick. A little salt and sand would go a long way right now. The kids are back to school this morning and I'm sure once again a difficult morning for them. |

| I just got in from driving my son to school what a Mess your slipping and sliding up by the high school. This is unacceptable. Were are the sanders? I did not see one out as of 830 this morning. No disrepect to Mr. Sheehan but, I don't think he knows what to do in a situation like this Time for Big Al to come back and take charge Hanlon please wake up public safety is at risk here. BRING BACK GTA THEY have the equipment J&S has nothing |

That is his personality. I am not here to defend him or abyone else I was just stating my opinion. I find it hard to believe people were not talking about Billy C. and his unprofessional ways.
