Sorry to disagree, but my experience with the school administrators is that the majority are abominable to these kids. They ridicule, insult and throw their weight around like they’re teenagers themselves. I recognize you can't blame the kids for all the administrators actions – BUT - How do you respect authority when authority has no respect for you? As for the mistreatment of the officer, ask the gals down at D.D. how some of the policemen treat these kids when they congregate there. We have a sociological problem here, and the bad examples are being set by those whom we teach our children are those we should look to for examples of proper behavior. I know the stories my niece tell me are ridiculous, and these administrators circle the wagons like no blue wall I ever saw. Now let's pay the school committee for their part in these abusive administrators getting their jobs.
How discouraging for our next generation.

The girls seem to be behaving more poorly than the boys. |

I disagree with your statements about the staff at EHS. They do everything they can. I actually think they should be tougher on the kids and the number of issues would drop. They hardly get detention up there. Warning after warning is not going to deter a kid from acting out. As for the some of the officers having attitude problems, I agree with you. Many of them would be able to control the kids much better with a little respect. I know a few cops who are great with the kids and officer O'Donnell (who works at EHS) is one of them, also Officer Trapp. O'Donnell has to deal with disrespectful kids (whose parents encourage the behavior) all day long. He has more patience than I would have with them.

I agree that there has to be consequences. It seems they get away with more and more up there. And from what my kids tell me, the staff does not "throw their weigth around." And I have not heard that from any other kid or parent either. They have a tough job up there. My only complaint is they should put more kids into detention, or suspend them if they do something that warrants that.
