The EVERETT INDEPENDENT appears to need some ideas for Everett to fight the BWSC Catch Basin and Sewage Treatment Processing plant slated for the MYSTIC River. OUTREACH through the Everett Independent would be an idea to start! Everett, Somerville, Charlestown, Chelsea, East Boston, Arlington, Medford, Winchester... are all going to be impacted by this ecological nightmare if they knew about it. These communities together could file a collective class action suit and a PROTECTION Order on behalf of the MYSTIC River. Forgo paying the School Committee a pay check as yet until it is proven at the end Superintendent Foresteire's probation he not stepped out of line during his one year probation. Has it been the year?(Put the voted School Committee $ that would have been dispersed into a MYSTIC fund) Is there any findings in the AUDIT we have been denied about the School Committee or City Office Budget Spendings we should know about? How can votes and measures be being decided in City Hall by Aldermen/women and Council People when tax payers don't even know what guilt has been found in what City Office Departments? But our tax money is being tossed around to guilty departments? Do I believe we will ever know the true Audit? No. Take the $500,000.00 Mayor Hanlon is collecting in back taxes and put it towards Everett's part of a legal fund to sue BWSC, Mayor Menino, the City of Boston, and the EPA for not stewarding our communities health and safety. Consolidate Everett City Hall and the School Dept. and all other scattered City Offices into the Broadway High School. Start a Penny Campaign for the Environment to educate and teach kids outreach. As an INDUSTRIAL Community why hasn't the School Committy come up with ideas for Environmental Awareness educating Everett students? Put a check off donate box for Everett Property Owners/ Business/Home Tax Bill for the Environment. Mandate INDUSTRY in Everett to corrected Water and Sewer Meters to pay fair share of their Water and Sewer Bill instead of the HOME OWNERS (I still have that article) paying INDUSTRIES Bills. Take all the collected monies in the Everett home owners bills collected and..well just fix that! Take some of the $40 million from the SUPERFUND clean up that happened on Island End River as contribution to a legal fund to protect the MYSTIC River. Can Everett do that with a Superfund? Does any of that money come to our community? Now why would Everett get Island End River cleaned but not fight BWSC $40 million dollars later? BWSC is a contamination and waste sight into the MYSTIC River. Why would Everett give up that fight so quick when the heat was so hot at the January 4, 2007 Charlestown meeting? Mayor Hanlon- Joe Hickey-CHris- you just give up? The Veil of Silence is Everett Politics. As a citizen I would prefer to be preventative through knowledge prior to a disaster, broken laws and lawmakers, and giving away my tax $. We have not even been entitled to what is in the Audit because we wouldn't understand it? And get that foolish summer time street sweep off these filthy streets-it just blows keeps blowing the filth on the streets in windy circles...
