I heard that yesterday some kids at the high school were caught under the influence of alcohol. They thought that it would be fun to drink while the sophmores were taking MCAS and go into school drunk. This also happened last year with many kids showing up intoxicated. Last year nobody was caught. The school officer seems to really be on top of things this year. He is very personable with the kids and really does a great job. Supposedly the same school resource officer approached two students outside who he suspected of having drugs and they pulled out knives and one of the suspects was cut in the scuffle by his own knife. I would not even believe these things were happening if I did not have reliable sources. Scary!!! I am glad to see that things are being handled by the police, but what are these kids thinking?
I also heard this however, my story went on even further... I was told that they were all girls and that 3 of them landed in the hospital with alcohol poisoning.
I did not hear that Lynda, but it would not surprise me. There was an incident this weekend of a boy ending up in the hospital with alcohol poisoning really bad. From what I hear they could barely get a pulse on him. But that incident did not happen in school.
i drove by the High School yesterday afternoon around 1:00PM. There were cruisers with their lights flashing and cops on the front stairs of the building. I had no clue what was going on.
Lynda that was not a lock down drill yesterday, that was the incident with the knives and drugs. The two suspects who were also students apprently pulled knives on officer O'Donnell. And they did not mention what was going on today, just said something about the incident today at EHS.
It has to be such a worry for parents of students to send them off to school each day. These kids have to grow up way to fast because of the way society is today. Is there any certain group that is causing the problems at EHS?
Oh if I could only open my mouth! Most of the kids up there are good kids. There are a couple of groups (mostly girls) who cause the majority of problems. While I know the school does what it can, I do not believe they get the parents involved quick enough. Some of those kids are disrespectful to Officer O' Donnell like you would not believe. And they have no respect for anyone in general. They are headed for a life of trouble if they think they can continue to act the way they do.
