Vincent Ragucci sounds like just the kind of man we need on the BOA. And I like his name!

Hello all, I would like to introduce myself as Crystal V. Eason, School Committee Candidate for Ward 6. I just pulled my papers today. I am a student at Stonehill College where I major in history, and being a life-long resident of Everett and having experienced the school system firsthand from K-12, I believe I know what types of reforms are necessary to produce the leaders of tomorrow, today, right here in Everett. Myself being a member of Everett High School's National Honor Society Chapter, I am very much interested in increasing the number of teenagers who graduate, as well as further their education whether it be in trade school, serving our country in the armed forces, or attending a college/university. I would also like to help eliminate the recent influx in violence and drugs that we have encountered in our school system over the years. I truly believe that with the support of the citizens of Everett, I can make the beneficial changes that will make all the difference in the quality of the Everett Public Schools. Everett is inaugurating a new high school in 2007, so why not inaugurate a new school committee with it? Feel free to e-mail me at Eason_4_SchoolCommittee@Yahoo.com if you have any questions, comments or concerns, and please don't forget to come out and vote on Election Day.

Sincerely,
Crystal V. Eason
School Committee Candidate Ward 6

Wow! I am glad to see someone new is willing to run for school committee. I wish you luck Crystal and I hope more bright young people follow your example. I will give you my vote that is for sure. I have been waiting to see more people decide to run.
Best Wishes!

Sally

I have to say anyone who decided to run has a real good shot at winning this time around. People want change. And they are willing to give anyone a chance.

Thank you for your support, Sally. I am going to need the entire city's encouragement if I plan on being the next to help improve our school system. This seat is something I am very passionate about because I know I can make some advantageous changes. Please remember this seat is voted city-wide, and although I will be Ward 6's representative on the School Committee, my plans are here to enrich the entire Everett Public School experience for everyone involved.

Sincerely,
Crystal V. Eason
School Committee Ward 6

Crystal............

Do you think you can stand up to the Superintendent?

JustMe,

I am not exactly looking to stand up to anybody, Superintendent and current Committee alike. I am, however, looking to get the support that is needed to make necessary changes in our school system. I believe I have many innovative ideas that could make drastic improvements in the schools. As I said, I am not trying to stand up to the Superintendent, however I can assure you that I have absolutely no problem speaking my mind on issues that may occur which I think could be handled in a more efficient way or on matters that I simply do not agree with. My top priority is to make progress in evolving Everett Public Schools into an efficient system that generates top-notch students, athletes and respected citizens. If it so happens that to accomplish this task I must "go against the current," then so be it. My commitment is only to the citizens of Everett, and no one else.

Sincerely,
Crystal V. Eason
School Committee Ward 6

Crystal, I didn't realize you were posting on different subjects when I replied to you on the school committee subject.

With the exception of any relatives working the the school system, the Pup and I wish you well.

Crystal, you're still in school and already talk like a politician therefore, I'll rephrase the question.

Will you be able to hold your ground and "go against the current" when the superintendent looks you in the eye and tells you you're wrong and explains (in his inimitable way) exactly what is wrong with your thinking?

Obviously, the current members of the school committee can't.

Well, it depends on what, exactly, is wrong with my thinking. I'm not going to be stubborn and argue if I believe the Superintendent has a good point. However, if you mean that I believe I am right and he is telling me I'm wrong, will I just shut my mouth and sit down like an obedient puppet? No. If I'm right, then I'm right, no matter who tells me I'm wrong. I will openly accept any "constructive criticism" toward my ideas, but I will never back down from what I believe is the best for Everett because someone told me too.

Sincerely,
Crystal Eason
School Committee Ward 6

justme, I think Van Campen has pulled papers for Alderman Ward 5 but I'm not 100% sure, that's why I haven't added him.

Now we have three candidates running for School Committee Ward 6. I hope the other Wards follow suit. It sure would be nice to give the "FFF Gang" a run for their money. I keep hearing rumors that others are running but nothing has come of it as yet. Unless they are going to pull papers close to the deadline to keep "FFF" and his "Gang" guessing. It might be a strategy. One can only hope.

Carlo DiMaria was walking Ward 1 last Monday night. So far, it's McGonagle and DiMaria walking the Wards, I haven't seen any of the other candidates for Mayor. Has anyone seen the others yet?

There was a picture of Van Campen pulling papers for Ward 5 Alderman in one of the papers last week. (The Independent I Think)

I believe that Mr. Van Campen has pulled papers; his biennial photo op was in the newspaper. This suggests that he will likely be pulling for Mr. Hanlon. The last thing RVC will want is another young man getting that seat.
