Tetris, it's not your fault, my friend. It's the fault of the superintendent, and his bought and paid for press in this city. The newspapers don't question a thing; they don't dig any deeper on a story beyond what Fred tells them. It's the most shallow reporting I have ever seen, and we deserve better than that. |

The chamber is empty. I expected a mob and there's no one! What's up with that? Where is everyone? Channel 7 is there, but that's it. |

About the Fred letter Walking Eagle is hiding behind it's not my job. This guy is in charge of the whole city but the way he talks there are 2 goverments 1 for city hall and 1 for the schools. Van Campen is a clown, he will give you a nice polite ten minute speech about why it can't be done and nothing gets done. (HE DOES NOTHING) NOHING
****************************************************************************************************** Money Flew, Taxes Grew, Sludge Too, Hired a Few, Hanlon Knew, We got screwed, Hired a few more now there is 104, What do we do?

Where do you start?
1. $300,000 for an electric bill on a school that is not even open yet? (Settled at $175,000? - for an empty school?)
2. Not budgeting anywhere near the amount needed to cover new negotiated union contract increases.
3. Math that does seems to add up for the new recreation center director's salary increase.
4. No purchasing office until next fiscal year or the union forces the issue.
5. Unless the treasurer's office has an extra half-million dollar laying around in its budget, why isn't it closed too?
6. A redefinition of a true budget.
7. An adminstration that refuses to talk about the audit and the people suspended or terminated. (I'll cut them a little slack on this on because I'm not sure they could talk about it without worsening the lawsuits that they have already brought upon us.) 8. The IG's office mail doesn't arrive.
9. More of FFF's lawyer to look forward to.
I could go on but my head is ready to explode.... |

I went to that meeting tonight. There was no one there. It should have been mobbed. I was disappointed in the poor showing, since there were some important items on that agenda. Vetrano sat in the audience telling Hanlon what to say. She even spoke out loud once to correct him. When it was time for McGonagles piece about the audit she was no where to be found. |

How much money is there in the Budgetary Fund? Is that what is known as the "free cash fund?" It seems to me if they keep going the way they are going there isn't going to be anything left in that account. |

Massdee,
The Budgetary Fund Balance and Free Cash are indeed the same thing.
I don't understand why two questions aren't always asked any time a free cash transfer is requested. The first would obviously be how much money is left in free cash. The second would be are there any expenditures in the pipeline that anyone is aware of that may require an appropriation of free cash in the future. Without this information, I don't know how anyone can make an informed decision on how to best expended this money. |

Did Foresteire's attorney or the IG show up at the meeting? What happened with that? Item # 28 on the agenda. |

I didn't see the meeting, but I've been told by someone who did that there was no appearance by either the IG's office or Foresteire's attorney. Smith was asked to check back with the IG's office, and Foresteire claimed he never got the letter.
