Oh........ Is that like "Walking Eagle" saying he didn't receive the initial CC from the IG? Seems to be a lot of that going around.

Item #29 was laid on the table for another two weeks.

Treasurer was on vacation; budget director was among the missing (if they said where she was, I missed it); auditor was there but McGonagle thought it would be best if he could ask all of his questions to the entire group of them at the same time.

That makes two meetings in a row that they have not been there for that particular item. Are they hoping it will just go away?

Of course they're hoping it will go away. And since everyone will be involved with the budget and finalizing it by July 1st, there's a possibility it may disappear. To be honest, but part of me thinks it's like beating a dead horse. Everyone knows they lied and misrepresented the audit, what will we gain by bringing it up again? Will it help or hurt the people terminated and/or suspended? Does anyone know who is still out of a job from that group?

I know Gilbardi is still gone, and I believe the two clerks are still out on a paid administrative leave, but not positive on that one.

He's doing what all our elected officials should be doing.............. Not letting people forget what Freddie did and not letting him off the hook! The man, and Lorna DeFeo, should NOT still be employed by the city.

I agree I think Steve Smith is doing the right thing not letting it die. As long as the "papers" want to keep printing how FFF was thrown under the bus we need to remind people of what really happened.

Questions from tonight's Alderman's meeting:

Alderman DiMaria - If you really had another $1,000,000 that could have been cut from the budget, why didn't you bring up those cuts at the budget meetings? Don't you think this could have helped your mayoral campaign?

Alderman Marcus - Do you understand that when you vote to cut a salary line item, somebody is probably going to lose their job? Yes, the cuts that were made were intended to target certain individuals but everyone knew that they wouldn't be implemented that way. I'm sorry that innocent people may lose their jobs and, if other cuts can be made to avoid it, let's hope that they don't.

Alderman Smith - Did you really expect the City Solicitor to give you any information about FFF's case? If anyone hasn't seen the meeting, you really need to make the time to watch this part; another shining moment in Everett politics.

Mayor Hanlon - Why the problems with Local 25? No plan of action yet? When? I could go on but it just gives me a headache...
