I just read the following on The Mirror, does anyone know if it is true about the zoning on lower Broadway?
What I was getting at is that property on lower Broadway is not zoned for Thibeault's waste facility and he would like the zoning changed. Since the new Mayor will be appointing the next Board of Appeals, I think you can put two and two together and come up with a zoning change for Mr Thibeault's property. If done this way, it will never go in front of the Board of Aldermen or the Common Council. So, anyone who says the City Council would never pass such a thing, is correct, it will never show up on their agenda. Anonymous | 10.09.07 - And if you do not believe me about the zoning down there, call the city clerks office and find out for yourself. Anonymous | 10.09.07 - |

AVGMOM, here are two quotes from you. So, please tell me has or has not Joe responded to the Independent?
"Actually Massdee, Carlo responded to last week's Independent's request to debate with Joe immediately when he read the paper and it was days until Joe even responded to the Independent, so I am sure Carlo is more than willing and ready."
AVGMOM Member "Whatashame, actually Carlo hasn't given an alternate date because Joe has yet to RSVP to the Independent's invite, so the ball is in his court."

But the editor of the Independent has never let the facts get in the way of a good story.
Your right Citizen it has to be sponsored by someone somewhere other than a City Hall. [/quote]

No Massdee, he never responded to the Independent's invite, but did say he wanted to debate in his video. Sorry if I confused you. |

Lynda, Over on The Mirror there is a post at 10:09AM under the heading, "Vindication for City Auditor," that I think you might find interesting. Some of it's content is similar to what you have posted here in the past. I am talking about the section addressing the Board of Alderman and the Common Council. |

It was indicated in the Independent today that McGonagle has accepted their "invitation" for a debate. The piece does still claim that the debate will be held at City Hall. I'm pretty sure that, legally, they cannot hold the debate at City Hall.

AVGMOM, I guess you were misinformed since the Independent clearly states that both Joe and Carlo have accepted their offer for a debate. |

Citizen, could they use one of the school buildings or would that also be a no no? |

Massdee, at the time the independent told me, Joe hadn't responded, maybe when someone read on this blog that he hadn't responded then he did, it is true. Why would I lie about it ? Funny though, I read that Wed. and thought, Massdee is going to give it to me now !! But honestly he must have responded late Tues. |

I talked with someone yesterday from the independent and they are still waiting on Joe for an acceptable date, that's the latest. |

Technically, massdee, I don't think they could, but we have had political rallies at the Parlin in the past. It would be worth checking out. It would be difficult to have a debate like that in this city since we really have no meeting halls large enough to hold a public meeting like that.

Would the Armory be off limits, too? That would certainly hold a crowd. |
