I haven't seen it, but everyone says it is beautiful. If that could be worked out, what a great idea.

This is a little off topic at the moment, but, I'm going to post it anyways because I believe it to be important.

I'm going to post something about you as if it were a fact. I may believe it. I just might like the sound of it. I just might want to stir up some controversy. I just might.... I don't know what else. I may decide to provide no facts about it. I may tell you and the other approximately 250 members of this board (not to mention the non-members who read the posts made here) who you need to talk to or what you have to do prove my information is factual. I know that what I post here will probably be posted somewhere else as a proven fact. Would you it like it if someone posted information about you like this?

I'm posting this in the main Carlo and Joe threads on this board as a plea to stop these kinds of posts. Opinions are fine as always but if you want to present something as fact, you should be prepared to back it up yourself; the burden of proof should not be moved to all of the people you read your posts. Sometimes, it is difficult to get the information that you need to back-up your own assertions; but, if something is important enough to post, it is important enough to do your homework on so that you can back them up completely.

Just one man's opinion.

That's a great thought tetris but you're asking everyone to take the high road and I don't see that happening. Those here that post that junk do it to stir things up and cause trouble.......... Do you really think asking nicely will change that?

Just something I had to get off of my chest after I read some of the things I saw posted last night in various threads. Is it going to stop all of these posts? I doubt it. But, if it challenges even a few people to think before they post, I'll be satisfied.

Do you think it would be appropriate to delete that topic with those postings or should I let it stand? I am asking because I don't want to look like I am favoring one candidate over the other. I think what happens, people read something, gets ticked and then retaliates with what they think they know, whether they know all the facts or not.

In my opinion, Massdee, you should probably let the posts stand. We don't seem to have an awful problem because one or more of us always seems to step in and plead for sanity before it gets to far out of hand. I know that you would do your best to be fair but since your preference in the upcoming election is well known, I'm sure you would at least be challenged, if not attacked. I'd hate to see that happen to you.

Thanks, Tetris, that is why I asked. If it was on any other topic and it got out of hand, I would use my own judgment.

Joe not contacting the Independent is because he needs to get his lies straight first to make Carlo look bad. That is his way. Under advise from Mitchell who put Chelsea in receivership and Ragucci. He has no problem contacting the Independent for his full page BS or another full page to disseminate Carlo DeMaria. A vote for Joe is a vote for recession. Just like he takes advice from his tenant the ex-mayor of Chelsea jailbird editor from the fish rap.

Tertis
I would like to respond to your comment on 10/6
As a personal friend of Joanne Gregory I want to set the record straight
First of all Joanne was put in a position she DID NOT ASK TO BE IN
Second she worked in that office with a staff of two clerks for six months
Third she managed to get ALL city payrolls processed every week without error, ALL city accounts reconciled every month and FREE CASH certified on time and maintain an A BOND RATING, while the new school building program was going on!

No other Treasurer in the City's History has been asked to do what she had to do. The current Treasurer has an Assistant Treasurer, two full time clerks, one part time clerk and a newly hired cashier!

She will make an excellent Alderwoman-at-Large; she cares about this city and the people who live here. She is a generous hard working woman. At least she's not in it just for health insurance benifits.
In fact she has a great job and unlike her opponent she has always had to work hard to support herself and her family.

Taylor, the word is decimate . . . or more appropriately eviscerate . . .

No problem contacting the Independent for full page ads? That's pretty funny, Taylor. The Independent has a sales person who contacts every candidate for office to solicit advertising. Do you think the Independent is going to turn away anyone's full page advertising?

Wanda,

First off the name is Tetris. Secondly, I'm not Dave Ragucci. I'm not the one that put Joanne into that position. She's also had a choice, albeit not a good one, if she didn't want to be in it. I'm also not the one who, for whatever reason, did not go forward and make her appointment permanent. The post that you refer to concerned people from the Ragucci administration who maybe aren't looking for their job back; I felt that Joanne was one of them. Some of things that you list in your post might seem to support that. If McGonagle is true to his word and Joanne ran that deparment as well as you state with as little as she had to work with, the staffing in that department would most likely be decreased. The tone of your post and the fact she is running for the aldermen's seat seems to indicate that the treasurer's position might not be something she wants to go back to.

What you probably perceived as a slam of Joanne in my prior post was the statement that her being in the treasurer's position contributed to Ragucci's downfall. This was intended to be a slam of Ragucci since he put someone in a high-level, relatively high-paying (for city standards, anyways) position yet could never make the appointment permanent. Most of us are not city hall insiders; what is the general public to think? Take it anyway you want; this is how it was intended.

With all that said, I have to say that I was impressed with Joanne's latest campaign video. She took on Wayne strongly and directly without crossing the line (although I thought she came pretty close; I'm planning on watching it again to be sure, one way or another.) On the other hand, Wayne re-cycled the same old tired speech that he uses every two years. I don't think that you should run for alderman (or any other office, for that matter) with the centerpiece of your campaign being that, however commendable it is, you run a annual safe Halloween party. I voted for Wayne in the primary because I hadn't seen enough out of Joanne as aldermanic candidate to that point. I have an open mind and I want to see more from each candidate before I make up my mind for the final election.

Thank you for your participation and bringing something different to the board.

Sorry Tetris not Tertis

But thank you for the clarification

Do you happen to know what Wayne does for work?

Wanda - just for clarity - are you suggesting that Joanne didn't want to be the treasurer? Also, didn't she have an assistant treasurer, as well?

Regarding Wayne, I believe he lives on his city council check. He used to drive a van for Steve Smith's hotel, but that was it as far as I know.

Taylor,

To follow up on Citizen's post, it's either advice or advisement, not advise; although, you do use it correctly later on your post to hammer home the same point.

I don't recall a full page McGonagle ad in the Independent; the Leader-Herald, maybe?

Also, can you explain this one? "A vote for Joe is a vote for recession." I wasn't aware that the powers of the mayor of Everett extended that far? Let's call the Fed chairman and let him know. Regression, maybe?

Who are you? Norm Crosby?

Wait a second! A former Hanlon supporter who writes/speaks like Norm Crosby! Could it be.....nah, probably not!

Could someone please tell Carlo to stop taking phone calls and text messaging when he's at a Board of Aldermen meeting. Next he'll be breaking out snacks.
