There’s a lot of talk going around the mirror that Alderman McGonagle does not live at the home he has listed. What is the protocol for that? It seems other members of the Common Council do it also. It’s all wrong to me.

Well, first you'd have to be able to prove it.
A candidate for mayor, obviously, must have his primary residence in the city. A candidate for common council, alderman or school committee must live within the ward they are running to represent. At large candidates are not restricted by ward but, as with the mayor, must live in the city.

| Citizen, I believe you are absolutely correct about where candidates must live. Next, I can also tell anyone who is interested, Joe lives at 23 Everett Street. I know that, without a doubt. He has lived there going on six years, and has owned that house much longer than that. I have been there many times over the years. I don't know who or where this rumor started but it is just that, a rumor. He lives there with his beautiful dog, Maddy. |

| I agree, massdee. These rumors alwys start flying, particularly when the opposition starts feeling desperate. I have no doubt that Joe lives where he says he lives. |

| What I don't understand, why don't they go after each other on the issues. It makes no sense to make up stories about the candidates. Especially stories than can be proved otherwise. I have read so much crap that isn't true. I try to keep my mouth shut when it comes to Joe, but some things just go over the top. |

| Hey I saw all this on the mirror and dont know if it makes a difference or not when it comes to the elections. I didnt like McGonagle at first but Im starting to. |
